Overall this installment of Laruaville is pretty good. I miss the variety of "other" games like the cards and the mah-jongg tiles that were present in previous installments. I am not a fan of find the difference puzzles therefore those are a throwaway for me. My favorite of all installments is still number 4 but this one is good enough to play more than once!
Some games are just not meant to be for me. I was bored out of my mind from the beginning. I really tried to like it - the reviews were so glowing! I just never could figure out what had everyone so happy about this game.
Personally it just didn't work for me. Try it yourself.
I actually enjoyed the story behind this game. I like being able to build a town. This has the standard upgrades you can buy, like extra undo, etc. What lost it for me was the choppiness moving from scene to scene.
If you have never played a game like this before you'd be lost. There is not a lot of explanation behind certain elements. I knew what they were and what to do based on other games. Don't try this one first if you are new to these types of solitaire games!
I played for about 20 minutes and got bored. Not a good sign for me. I won't be purchasing this one.
Having read the reviews for the CE version of this game I decided to wait to try this when the SE arrived. I'm okay with another "the bad guys from another dimension are taking over Earth" game if it is fun. However, this game made me go "meh". The first time I had to find small items outlined on a sepia colored background I was pretty sure I wasn't going to enjoy this. The second time sealed the deal. I played about 30 minutes and just wasn't enjoying it. Some will love it; others will hate it. Many, like me will just think it's alright but not alright enough to buy it.
Personally I like this game. Not as good as some of the other Dead Reckoning ones but better than a lot of the games we've seen lately. I personally don't mind the back and forth and I didn't find the map that hard to navigate. Does it have a lot of the same gimmicks as other games - yes - but don't they all?
Don't just go by reviews. If I did I'd miss out on a lot of games I like and I'd have bought a lot I would absolutely hate. Try it.
It took me all of 5 minutes to realize this wasn't going to be the game for me. The scenes were "foggy" and it was even hard to read some of the words on the screen. As much as I like the idea of defeating the dragon it was a no go.
I found this game to be interesting enough to finish the demo but I am unsure as to whether I'll purchase it or not. I do like the storyline and I don't mind Toto the helper. The demo only took about 45 minutes to finish so I wonder exactly how long this game is. I may wait for the SE. Give it a try. I'm glad I did!
I'd really like to give this 4.5 stars. Great game - the one negative I found (and it's not really a big deal) is that the mouths of the characters in the voice overs are weird! But if that's my only complaint - so what!
This game is LONG. And it never drags. I'm one of those that plays for 30-45 minutes normally and can quit. I didn't want to quit this one. I played the first game in the this series so I was familiar with the story but you don't have to be. They give you enough of the back story.
I was pleasantly surprised by this game. It was much longer than I expected and had a lot of twists and turns to it! There were times, however, I wished I had bought the CE to have the strategy guide.
My biggest problem with this game, and many like them, is the lack of a hint feature during the puzzles. A couple of them I would have liked a bit of help, or to have the "skip just this part" feature.
I've not been a huge fan of the Dark Romance series in the past, but I did enjoy this one immensely!
After the previous two Redemption games I had just about given up on this series. I'm very glad I gave this one a try! I love being able to customize the game and I, for one, appreciate having the option of easy vs. hard puzzles. I also like being able to skip in 1 second if I'm just not in the mood.
I bought this game after playing the demo and I liked the length of it and the storyline that went with it. I haven't played the bonus game yet but I will!
