My review is based on the full game, which I am currently 2/3 of the way through. I will begin by saying that Eipix did a fantastic job on this game. I'm not sure if it was the darker colors, but their graphics quality took a step forward. I've always thought that their games were good except for the fuzzy graphics. The darker colors work SO much better. That said, this games feels like they took a page from their last two Ravenhurst installments to develop this new series. Even one of the characters looks like one of the Ravenhurst twins. I do recommend this game, but - as always - give the trial a whirl first.
I recommend this game!

Haunted Legends: The Secret of Life
You've traveled the world in search of a cure for your deadly illness, and you've finally found it! But it won't be easy to get – are you up to the task?
First off, I think a 4 year old could solve most of the puzzles. They were easy to the point of ridiculous. Further, this is the first game in which I actually had to turn off the sound. The childish, whiny, "valley-girl" voiceovers were unbearable. BFG really needs to find more mature voices in its games.
This game was ridiculous to the extreme. The devs must have been high when they designed it. I play most BFG adventure games, but this one got down right unintuitive to honestly having no idea what the goal of tasks were at points. Then it vacillated to puzzles a kindergarten kid could solve. I uninstalled at about the 60% point as I was bored to tears. Who cares if the game is long or not when you really don't care to finish it.
First off, let me say that I'm only about 1/2 way through the purchased game (no demo). This series is consistently well done and this game is no exception. I'm very picky about graphics and VOs and I have no complaints here. The graphics are washed out a bit but that fits with the 50s retro game theme. (I usually review game appearance as far too many BFG developers are taking way too many shortcuts these days in my opinion.) The developer does a good job of making you think about what to do next, which keeps things more challenging. I won't speak to the plot as others do that better than me, but I definitely recommend the game....especially if you like 50s,noir, or retro themes.
I like the majority of the MOTW games but this one just isn't doing it for me. I'm about 1/2 way through the game and I may not finish it. It's just plain old boring. It also seems that Eipix has dropped their graphics quality even more. How much effort and game size increase could it possibly take to improve the quality of their graphics? They ruin every game with the fuzzy graphics.
The music and setting (NOLA) made the 1st two games in this series two of my all-time favorites. While I appreciate the Cuban flavor of this game (and it's timing with current events in Cuba), neither the music or the overall game engagement was even close to the first two. I actually started getting bored with it about 1/3 of the way through. The bonus game was somewhat silly. I really hope the series re-establishes its footing in the next installment.
I should have listened to the reviews. I bought this during a good sale but I have to say even that was far too much to pay. It's very rare for me to stop a game in less than 5 mins and delete it from my PC but I did with this one. It was just plain bad from the very start of the game. The wolf powers were ridiculous and the "puzzles" were something a two year old could do.
Eipix for the most part comes up with fairly good story lines for their games and this game was no exception. I just don't understand why they continue to have such blurred graphics in all of their games. No other developer on BFG seems to have this issue. It looks like they are using some kind of compression before publishing the games. At any rate, this is such a deal killer for me that I think this is my last purchase of their games. CEs, especially, should have much better graphics than this.
This was overall a pretty good games. Many of the puzzles were a challenge. My biggest gripe is that the overall graphics were on the "cheesy" side and definitely looked like drawings.
I'm about 2/3 of the way through this game and I have to say that this is the worst EG game I've ever played. The graphics quality are only a fraction of what they once were (and EG used to be THE BEST) Those days seem to be over. Beyond that, this game is just weird. The premise is OK but the execution is disjointed and quirky and at times ridiculous. This is one purchase that I regret.
