5-BN is a developer that has resisted the cut in quality of most BFG developers over the years and I hope this continues. Everything about this game is fantastic...graphics, storyline, challenge, and pace. They've also deepened the color scheme over the prior games which definitely gives it a greater richness. My hat is off to them for this excellent game. Give it a try. I think you'll like it!
I didn't expect a lot from this game as I'm not the world's biggest fan of this developer. That said, I was pleasantly surprised with the game play. There were a lot of hidden object scenes but they did them well by NOT making them the usual junk piles. The way they did these is much like the early BFG games. The one area where this developer could use some improvement is the cartoonish graphics, which takes away most of the "creep" factor that they are attempting to put into the game.
I don't like putting down developers, but GrandMa really needs to "up its game." The most recent games just seem cheesy. That's the only word that fits. The graphics are way too much like cartoons. I miss the days when BFG had games with 3d graphics. I uninstalled this within 10 mins of trialing it. As always, demo it before buying to see if your cup of tea or not.
This game was so badly done, I didn't last even 15 minutes before uninstalling. It seems each new Mad Head game gets worse than the ones before. They are really just still images with the same tired mechanics in each game. The female voice overs in this game were also like the proverbial fingers down a chalk board and most amateurs could have done a better job of showing emotion. I don't recommend this game and I highly suggest a trial before buying it.
Elephant really dropped the ball on this game. Normally, this series is really well-done, but this time too many corners were cut. The graphics quality was really badly done compared to prior installments and most of the voice-overs were unbearably bad. (Just a hint Elephant, a woman in her 60s won't have vocal fry!) If this is a sign of where this series is going, then it will be yet another for trash pile.
I thought the story in this game was one of the best that Eipix has done in quite some time. Although the color palette was a little off-putting at the start, I quickly realized it was a good choice for the story. Puzzles could have been a tad more challenging but I have no regrets in buying the game. Give it a trial to see if it's your cup of tea or not.
This has got to be one of the worst games I've ever attempted to play on BFG. I loved the first two games in this series but it's been downhill since then. The lead character VO is like fingers down a chalkboard it's so badly done. (Hey, BFG, how about a few professional voice actors for a change?) The graphics look like a cartoon episode. But the worst part is one of the most contrived and ridiculous storylines ever. I used a free coupon to get the game but I didn't last 20 mins before I uninstalled it. To say that I don't recommend it, is an understatement.
I'm a fan of Elephant Games and typically buy most of their games. This time around that was a BIG mistake. In my opinion, this is the worse game they've ever released. The story was absolute nonsense. The tasks were quite frankly an offense to one's intelligence. Most of the tasks were just plain ridiculous and had no logic at all. (Sometimes I wonder if BFG developers even care about logic anymore.) Further, the graphics in this game were cartoonish and cheesy to the extreme. Elephant, if you are listening, a course correction is definitely needed.
It seems that almost every game Domini publishes these days it is exactly the same as the one before with a little different "makeup". This game is a prime example of this. They seriously need some new ideas and new series. The graphics in their games have dropped drastically over the past few months as well. I won't be buying this, as I didn't last more than 10 minutes into the demo before uninstalling.
I've loved all of the early DP games and think the Red Riding Hood Sisters was the pinnacle of the whole series. I bought this game on sale but suspected I was going to regret it. The trailer of the game didn't look promising. Long story short, I've found that I've liked the game to so far. (I'm in chapter 4 currently.) The graphics aren't the same as the early games but I think BT and Eipix did a ok job overall. As some reviewers have mentioned, I don't understand why the graphics varied so much from one scene to the next. One would be superb and the next was grainy or blurred. It may be the fact that there was 2 companies involved. I think this game deserves much higher reviews. Does it deserve 5 stars? No. But 4 seems fair. Maybe the poor reviews and sales will spur the two companies to up the graphics a bit more in the next iteration. As always, give the demo a whirl before buying. This series still has some steam left if the two companies don't kill it by cutting corners on the quality.
