Here is an h.o. game that has two kinds of h.o.'s, one is the regular find the object from a list and the other is when you enter a room there are question marks hanging around the room. The arrow glows when you move the cursor around the room, you click when the cursor glows. After you click all of them there will be a scenario which your character will tell you what happened in that particular room. There are mini games to play which were pretty easy. The map is a jump map and shows you where you need to do something. Nice clear graphics and colors. Music was fitting, mysterious type. What bothered me was when you click on something to see what it is, after telling you what it is and/or other info, the bar takes a long time to go back up and sometimes it's in the way of something you want to see in the scene. The hint button shows you which direction to go if you get stuck. Voice overs are pretty good, but there is also reading too. There is one thing that I am displeased about in this game and that is there is cursing in some places, why, I don't know, the other 9 clues has curse words also. I know it doesn't bother everyone, but it bothers me and for that reason I would not recommend it to younger players. Other than that, it was an enjoyable enough game, no morphing objects or collectibles, no pet helpers. A simple, fun game I would play again, but because of the curse words, I have already uninstalled it.
The runestone that has protected the town of Neverville for centuries has disappeared. Now, the evil necromancer Grimhall is threatening its people. Can you save them from this grim fate?

After reading good things about this game I decided to try it. I have to say it is disappointing. The storyline is a girl (you) help to rid the town of an evil being who controls people. It's simplistic, no morphing objects, collections, or awards. There are only a few places to travel to, no map, but the hint button will not only tell you what to do, it will transport you there if you wish. The colors are good, but graphics are a little grainy. I think if there was more time put into making this game it could have been a very good game. A few of the h.o.'s have incorrect grammar, example; calling an artichoke a cabbage. Music is fine, voice overs are pretty good, the main character's voice is a little over done, and she looks kind of ridiculous in a pose from some girly magazine. There are several kinds of puzzles, easy to do, not frustrating; matching pictures, shooting gallery, deciphering symbols. There is a lot of back and forth, but the hint jumps help out there. Just when you get to the point of fighting the big boss and think things are finally going to happen, the game abruptly ends! That's it! "The End" appears and that's all! I will not be playing this game again, I wish they would redo it and make it longer, I would try it again if they did. But until then, no thanks.

I like the solitaire games where you get to build things, this one does that, you are rebuilding a kingdom that has been destroyed by enemies by playing solitaire to earn gold coins. The graphics are very nice, colorful, and clear. Cards are nice and big, you can choose from 4 card faces. Sound effects are good, and the music is soft classical, very nice. You earn several power ups to use, but you can only use them once while playing each screen,
starting the game with a combo score of 1.2, adding an extra undo button, seeing the next top of the deck card, reshuffle the deck (I don't know why), and my favorite, eliminating a card that is showing. In some levels you must find parts of a relic that are hidden in the cards, then when you have enough gold you buy a building. You can skip building the next building for a better one, but I highly recommend not doing that cause it messes up the game. I did it and the game made me keep playing the same level over and over, even though I had already found all the relic parts. I quit playing after playing the same level 6 times. The scenery is quite lovely in each level, and you may set them as desktops. I think the game is o.k., but it can become tiring cause there really isn't much to do, no in between puzzles or h.o. scenes, strictly solitaire. If you like that then you should like this game. Fine for all ages. I recommend this game only if you are a solitaire only person, if you like a mixture of solitaire with puzzles and/or h.o. scenes, then I do not recommend.

I bought the collectors edition so will review on that. I am very pleased with this game cause it keeps me entertained! Very fun game. The graphics are very good, nice colors, beautifully illustrated scenes, music is non intrusive, but still mystery oriented. The story line is to find out who or what is turning the women in this town into sirens. You are a returning dr. who was summoned to help the town to rid itself of these horrible creatures. The story is easy to follow, not confusing. You talk to people and are able to choose lines of dialogue you want to respond with. Also there are video clips you can watch over if you need to. Journal is helpful as is a jump map which shows places you still have things to do at. H.O. scenes are fun, using different types; unscramble the words, answer the riddles, silhouettes, etc. The in between puzzles are not too hard, some I needed to put my thinking cap on, but not my frustration helmet! You also have to look for pearls in the scenes including the h.o. scenes which you get to use to decorate your own house, very fun, there are several of each item to choose from! Also, look for aquarium items in the scenes to add to your fish bowl, that has a fish you get to name! There are achievements to be had too, some of the standards, like not skipping puzzles or h.o. scenes, finding things, etc. There is a bonus chapter in the c.e., not sure for the s.e. though. You can choose large icons if need be, and effects, music, and difficulty levels; casual, expert, or custom. There are a list of tasks to do in your diary and the c.e. has a good strategy guide. There are many wallpapers to choose from, very colorful ones. I think this game has a great replay value and I will replay and decorate my house differently each time! I am very happy with this game, give it a try. One thing I have not found out yet, why do all the ladies have the same hair color!? hhmmm... well, back to the game for me then! Have fun fellow fishies!

I just finished this lovely game and have nothing bad to say about it. It is a story where you are helping pretty Bella to have her first ball. Her brother has brought shame to the family because of his gambling problem, her father is not in favor of a ball and tells Bella she can marry their neighbor who is not a very nice man. However Bella receives an invitation from her aunt to attend a ball where she hopes to meet a fine gentleman and hopefully marry for love, not the need for money. You begin playing a one card up or down solitaire to gain money to help Bella buy clothes and to get their own home decorated. The graphics are good, very pretty and colorful. Every time you finish a chapter you may set the picture on your desktop. The time period is England 1812, so you can imagine how beautiful that time period is, like a Jane Auston novel, very romantic and gentle. The music is beautiful, like you would expect to hear at a ball. Challenge level is alright, there are chapter goals you need to get to receive 0 to 3 stars, making long combos, finishing all the cards on the board, etc. You can adjust music and sound levels and there is a normal or hard play level, I played normal cause I wanted this game to be a relaxing go to game, which it was. There are many beautiful places you will visit during the game, Brighton Beach, Roman Baths, Cotswold, St. Helens Church, Laverish Hall, and others. You can replay each scene to get a better score, but you cannot go back and play it later, so if you want to replay, do it before you go on to the next chapter. This game is good for all age groups and is very replayable. I love the games Grey Alien makes, this one joins another favorite from them, Spooky Bonus, a bright, colorful match 3 game. I definitely recommend this beautiful, relaxing game!
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.

I love M.C.F. games but this game didn't seem up to the others in this series. I started out eager to play but ended up looking forward to the end of the game. There are volume controls for music, effects, and environment, this is good. The music was good, mystery music. I did not like the object tray at the bottom of the screen, instead of scrolling, it rolled, and held very little so you have to keep clicking the arrows before the thing disappeared again, very annoying! The actors were alright except the Cassandra character, who it seems had fun in the role, but the result was overacting, and she looked and sounded corny. That would have been alright but she was the main character of the game so it became irritating. The one thing I did NOT like at all was the floating puzzle you had to put together after every chapter! The pieces are floating in the screen and you have to rotate them and put them together, it was very time consuming because you had no control in their movements! The guide which came with the c.e. was not very helpful, just showed pictures of what you needed to do. If you needed to go back to see something you may have missed, you can't! If you have an item you must use in several places make sure you take it with you when you leave in case you forget where you last used it! I was also disappointed in that I paid for a collectors edition but if you didn't do certain things in the game to "open" them, you will not have access to them! When I pay extra money to buy a collectors edition I expect to have access to the "extras" in the game! I will not replay this game and I don't recommend it, I forced myself to finish it because I paid for it and if I am playing a series, it doesn't feel right if I leave one out, so if you're like me, bite the bullet and play on!

I think this game is a lot of fun, you first hear the story about how you and your sister went to the circus every year when they were children, after growing up the sister is coming for a visit and they are going to the circus for old times sake, however after she disappears after volunteering for a magic act you must find her. The setting is more like a carnival than a circus, the music is a combo of mystery and adventure, pretty good. Colors are nice, good graphics and storyline. You get to choose from 3 levels and you can customize game play. You can choose how long it takes for hints and skip puzzle to charge. There are achievements to obtain, no morphing objects. Mini games are different than the usual, fun, not too tough. H.O. scenes are not hard, but interactive, you are also given a camera to take pictures and after you take the picture there are 3 objects to find in the picture. Jump map and journal are helpful. Voice overs are not that good, but not so bad it makes you hate hearing them, they mostly sound like someone just reading lines, pretty flat. You also spin a wheel of fortune to win money which you will need to heal animals in the park, winnings range from 1 to 5 coins. I really like this game and will enjoy replaying it. Have fun!

I love match 3 games, and this one has a lot more to it than just making matches. You can adjust the volume of the sound effects, music, monsters, and voice overs. There are also power up and display quality options. You name your city before beginning the game. There are 3 regions and 3 choices of difficulty; easy, normal, hard. There are also requirements to get upgrades (# of villagers, food supply, wood supply, etc.) There are good instructions in the game and it takes time to read those. And there are quests to fill to move on. The graphics are cartoony, but not bad, the match 3 board is pretty small on the left side of the screen. Music is pretty good, but you adjust it to what level you want it. It is challenging to play cause there is a lot to do and you must choose how to solve problems the villagers bring to you. The story line is to protect and build the city, build resources, and battle the enemy (match 3). Larger matches give you extra rewards. If you are looking for a simple match 3, this is not the game for you, if you like match 3 and building and upgrading for quests you should try this game. Have fun!

I love the MCF series except this one! I can't believe it's a part of the same series! I agree with crimsoncrab, the voice overs are so horrible and irritating, the characters are rude and obnoxious, I skipped through most of the dialogue, something I never do! I like sounds when I play games but this was too much, the horrible accents were too much! And yes the puzzles do get difficult and some you cannot skip, in some even if you find a walk through it wont help you cause it is random and can be different for each player. Graphics are good, h.o. scenes are pretty much junk piles. There is a map, but it's pretty worthless, not a jump map, doesn't tell you anything at all, I don't know why it's even in the game. There is a lot of back and forth, carrying objects for a long time before you get to get rid of them. Hints only for h.o. scenes. I will not play this game again, but maybe the c.e. of it has what this one is lacking, I would certainly hope so. I would never have thought I could give this series a bad review, but this game is awful!

This is an incredible mystery game with excellent graphics and sounds. The voice overs are amazing, probably the best I've ever heard in a game, music is fitting to the game, same as if you were watching a mystery movie. The difference between this and the first Brink of Consciousness is that the 1st one is a horror story while this one is a true who dunnit mystery. You will encounter people that will speak through dialog bubbles and if you click more than once they will say different things, sometimes helpful some times not. This is set in the Victorian era and the graphics and scenery are beautiful. Interactive H.O. scenes and puzzles are scattered throughout the game. There is a map that shows where you are and where there are things to do. Not too helpful really, not a jump map. At the end of the C.E. there are the usual things, wallpapers, music tracks, concept art (not thrilled with concept art), and one thing I have not seen in a game; an interview with the game developers which was very interesting. Now for the thing I can do without, there were curse words which I really don't see a reason to have in a game. I wish they would not include this unnecessary kind of talk that has nothing to do with the game or the game play, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I would not recommend this game to younger players because it is an actual murder mystery in which you come across dead bodies, and also because of the curse words. I personally would replay this game, it really is awesome and I look forward to the next game from these developers, hopefully without the bad language. It seems from the ending of this game there could be a continuance of it.
