I like haunted hotel/house games so thought I would try this with no intention of buying since I have so many "haunted" games, well guess what, I am hooked and must have this game. There are voice overs but no mouth movements, which is fine, the voices are well done. There are quite a few puzzles, not too hard, and the h.o. scenes are interactive. No morphing objects or collectables. There are 4 sound selections for; music, effects, environment, and voice. 3 play modes; casual, advanced, and hard. There is a wonderful jump map, which you will need as there is plenty of back and forth and has colored pins that show you where you are and where there is a task to be done and where there is no current task, also a task button to tell you what the current goal is. Sounds and colors are good, not too dark and you can change the gamma before or during play. There is a journal/diary to record your achievements. A couple of misleading items in h.o.'s; on the second floor h.o. the pen is actually a pin and in the hotel room h.o. the comb is actually a brush and the interactive is finding an angel, (you put the wings on) looks more like a bird of some kind. Music is good, of the mysterious type, goes well with the story which is you are there to find missing people and prove or disprove if the hotel is really haunted or not. There are some great spooky sound effects, moans and eerie thumps and such. This is a ghost story, I did not come across any demonic things, if you are very sensitive to sudden noises or things moving when you're not looking, it could be scary. For example, no matter what, a jack in the box always scares me when the thing jumps up! If you like ghost stories, you will like this one. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

I have many ND games and I have always favored the older games because they have good story lines and the scenery wasn't as dark as some of the newer ones are. I had the honor of testing this game and loved it. It is now among one of my favorites; a spooky old manor, interesting characters to interact with, nice sound track, good colors, and it is not just one puzzle after another like some of the other games are. There is a good story, you have been summoned to find a missing bride to be. Upon entering the house the hall and stairwell are kind of dark, but when you enter the rooms it gets light enough for you to see. There are several people to interact with, other places to visit which includes a spooky grave yard and mausoleum. There are 2 levels to choose from, amateur (regular puzzles, hints, detailed task list) or master sleuth(challenging puzzles, no hints, basic task list). Extras include; 13 awards, outtakes, and teaser(preview of another N.D. game). If you like a good ghost story, you will enjoy this one. There are some scary moments so this might not be good for younger players, you might want to play it before you let them play alone. Definitely has good replay value. I find this game chilling and exciting, like curling up with a good mystery on a rainy night! Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

I love this game, it has bright bold colors and "cartoony" graphics. It's your job to destroy zombies by making matches and hiring helpers that aid you in different ways; throwing bombs, shuffles tiles, and 2 others. There are several shapes you have to collect a certain number of to clear the board. If you match 5 or more you get a bomb. If you want, you can replay levels,or even go clear back to the first level to make more money. There are several hiding places in the first level you must look at to find your map, pretty easy to find. It is a very simple, but fun game, I will replay for sure. I don't find the game scary at all, kind of like the Halloween games we get every year from Big Fish, a lot of fun if you like those you will like this game! Cute "scary" music too. :)
I recommend this game!

This is a storybook style game about helping a Princess save her kingdom, the graphics are colorful and "chunky", for example, the people look kind of short and wide like some fairy tale illustrations are drawn in kid's books. There are only a few places to visit so even when you go back and forth it's not bad. The music is adventure sounding, not bad. The h.o. scenes are pretty good with several different styles of finding objects; just by words, finding broken pieces, silhouettes, etc. There are also match 3 puzzles, but they are not fun if you love m3 games, some you have to just clear the board, some drop an object to the bottom of the board. But there are no power ups or helps of any kind, and some of them are challenging up to the point of frustration cause the object has to be moved horizontally in order to drop down. This could be hard for a younger player, but there is no time limit, which is good. It's an o.k. game for all ages, no voice overs, some reading. You also will play solitaire games, so this game has some differences from other h.o. games in that it has a variety of games in it for such a short game with very few locations to travel to. I don't know that I would play it again, but it's an o.k. game, it does have references about witchcraft and you have to make magic potions, as in most fairy tales. If that doesn't bother you, give it a try before you buy. This is a play the trial first recommendation.
I recommend this game!

I LOVE holiday themed games, and this one has some very cute things; upgrade the outside of the house and yard, 2 types of each upgrade to choose from,( you have to buy house up grades with gold bars and power ups with coins) power ups that also can be upgraded. Sounds good so far, but.... here is what I do not like; the tiles you match are very small and the green ones look a lot alike, so if you get eyestrain easily trust me, you will get it from this game. Game colors are o.k. but a bit faded and washed out looking. Music is o.k., not much on the spooky side, more of a quirky little tune. And when you buy power ups, (it takes a very long time to get enough coins to buy) you can't use them right away! It takes forever to make enough matches to make them come onto the screen and when they do they are pretty wimpy, not really much help, and you have to clear some tiles MULTI times!! Not good descriptions of how the power ups work either, you just have to find out by use. There really is no story line, you are getting the house ready for visitors. There is nothing too scary for younger players, but I could see they might get frustrated playing this game, I Do! :( If you have great eye sight, and are a fast player you may like this game, and yes there is a relaxed mode, which in this game is the only way I can keep playing. I encourage you to play the trail first before spending your hard earned $$ on this game. There are a few other Halloween games that are much better than this one both of match 3 and h.o. types sold here at Big Fish that are much more colorful, cute, family friendly, and FUN! Hope this helps you out, Happy Halloween Big Fish players!
I don't recommend this game.

After reading all the good reviews I had to try this game, I love holiday themed games. I love this game! Yes, it is cartoonish, but that's what makes it so fun! No dreary demons and brain busting, complex puzzles that take days and endless back tracking to solve. Just bright bold colors of Halloween themed pictures and items to collect to decorate your yard, and make it into a desktop if you want. There are actually quite a few scenes to choose from to set as a desktop. The music is fun, like an old black and white thriller movie. Both relaxed and timed modes. There are also power ups to be had, each with their own sound effect when you use them. This game is meant to be just a fun Halloween escape, and it is. Fine for all ages. Feels like the old Boris song, "The Monster Mash", only in a game. I must get back to my thriller now, just had to stop and tell everyone how much fun this one is! Happy Halloween all!
I recommend this game!

When I first started playing this game I was impressed by the graphics and colors. The music was fine, kind of pirate style, I like pirate games. The pirate characters although dressed in the right clothes, were too clean cut, and boyish looking, the voices at first had a nice pirate "aaarrr" to it, but as the game went on, it seemed to diminish, and just fizzled out by the end of the game, the voices not sounding the way you think pirates should, instead of "aaarr matey, thar she blows!", it was; "hello my friend, it's over there". (lol) The story was a bit confusing, I think the objective was to rescue a lad from the hands of a treasure hungry, low life pirate, but again at the end, which came quite abruptly, no mention was made about it. Mix in a love story (I think), Greek mythology story, and catching up with The Baroness, and you have one confusing story line. Just when you think o.k., now we're getting somewhere, the game ends! Boom!!! Roll credits......The h.o. scenes were fine, you can change to match 3 if you want. Very nice visuals, crisp and sharp, good colors. Should have been a great game, but.......... I have to say it's just o.k., I suggest you do the trial first before buying. I don't even know if I recommend this game or not, leaning toward "not". There is good and not good, I am uninstalling it.

What a game! At first I didn't think I would like it, I don't like undersea games, but I love amusement parks. Well, you really can't tell you're undersea, but it does look like a very large amusement park with tons to do! The h.o. scenes are interactive and have hidden things in them; gems, puzzle pieces, (play puzzle to unlock a new scene), food, quest items, maybe more. There are 3 custom cursors to choose from, 8 music tracks, auto advance dialogue (you don't have to click to move on), performance mode (improves game on older computers), and other options. You click and drag to view the park. There are also bonuses to be had; wall papers, screen savers, music, stats, bonus goals. You use money you earn to upgrade the park (3 choices of an upgrade), and gems to play the puzzle games. I can't believe how much this simple looking game has to offer! Family friendly, fun, good graphics, good colors, and story line is about upgrading/saving the park for your grandfather. Voice overs are o.k., there is quite a bit of dialogue but you can skip it. I think all of us in my home will really enjoy this game for all ages. I hope you will too!
I recommend this game!

Although this game has many objectives, (build 3 houses, build mine, build log mill, upgrade buildings), the graphics are very cartoonish, like the kind you read in the newspaper. Bright colors, but still in the "westernly" brown shades. There are 4 levels to choose from but to me even the lowest level was confusing. It talks about a "task list", but there isn't one, it's the resources bar you have to click on, and anyway the tasks are up on the right hand part of the screen. It is a timed game which is frustrating because even in the first levels there is much to do in very little time; build 3 level 4 settler homes, collect 1500 gold (after building the mine and hiring a worker), build town hall, etc. You have to drag people from place to place before you can get the resources they want you to collect, and if you don't have enough lumber to build you must just sit and wait until there is enough which is also frustrating! The music becomes irritating quickly, the cutesy little banjo and guitar type of music you would hear in a western themed cartoon. Sound effects include the typical yahoos, yeehaws and other annoying whelps. There is a lot of dialog to read. If you are a very fast player and love timed building games in a western cartoon setting, you might like this game. If not, I do not recommend this game.

This match 3 game is very enjoyable to play, here's why; It has beautiful graphics, colors and artwork are beautiful, the music is soothing, relaxing, with a calming effect. It tells the story of long ago rulers and their kingdom and how it came to ruins. Your job is to restore and return ancient artifacts to the rulers by playing match 3 tiles. There are power ups to be gained as you progress in the game. This game is exactly the same as Call of Atlantis, but I think Atlantis has a little larger board and tiles. It too is beautiful like this game, wonderful music and sound effects in both these games. The boards start out fairly easy but as they progress they get more challenging, you will need your power ups, so try not to use them too early in the game, however, you can use the colored wheel as soon as you make enough matches to power it up. In between the match board there are 2 different puzzles to do, finding pieces of the artifact and putting them back together, and the next puzzle you will replace all the pieces you put together in the right places to complete the scene. I love this part cause when you replace, for example a torch into a holder, it lights up. Try not to put the pieces in the wrong place cause you will lose points, but if you do each one correctly, you gain more points. When you finish a level there is a screensaver that becomes available which includes sound effects, lovely. It is a very fun game, I think the only other match game I love as much is Rainbow Web 2, it always relaxes me to play that one (it has a "no timer" mode). These games are fine for all ages. Hope you enjoy these games as much as I do. :)
I recommend this game!
