This is a delightful game that is just perfect overall for raising the bar on the quality of holiday games offered during the Christmas/holiday season.
The graphics are a pleasure, music superb and overall a wonderful if not rather simple (in a good way) diversion in between all the hustle and bustle one has during the holidays.
I found the dialect in the intro for example, and ethnic words scattered about within the H0G puzzles a BONUS which actually added to the charm of the game... a reminder, perhaps, to embrace the universal appeal of the season.
SO GLAD THIS WAS OFFERED> THANKS DEVELOPER & BFG!!!
Shades of Death: Royal Blood is a fantastic, spooky game without being overly morbid with a happier-type ending. The graphics are excellent, story well plotted and gameplay varied and fun.
I enjoyed this game; it contained an adventure-style story with with cut scenes, interactive puzzles, inventory and Fragmented objects. The plotline was extremely loose so do not expect a lot in that regard. All in all sort of a hodgepodge of graphics, plot, theme, and even environment of as many games as you can think of all pieced together.
The graphics were clear, yet a bit on the small side in terms of ratio.
Nice to hear voice acting in the game... do I recognize the 'voice' from another game #Broken Sword series?#.
For the price it is a long game with plenty of varied, interactive puzzles, plotline, scenery and suspenseful fun to pass a leisurely night or two.
I recommend this game!

Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches
Explore a haunted farmstead in Wales called Ty Pryderi! Chris has been asked to house-sit, and is in for a spooky surprise!
A fun, challenging, spooky game in full adventure format (ie. no H0 scenes). Be prepared to spend some time on the puzzles or have the walkthrough at your fingertips.... some of the puzzles are tricky and do not solve in one fell swoop (ie. you will need to collect objects to 'trigger' puzzles, etc.).
There will be a lot of walking about; I found it pleasureable due to the superb graphics and nice, old country atmosphere.
A "must have" for your adventure collection for times when you need a little spooky chill AND have a patient frame of mind.
I believe my review title probably sums my opinion up pretty well with a few words. This game is one of the first I played on BFG, and it still remains on my top list as a recommendation.
Though technically perhaps not as sophisticated as some of the more recent in-your-face 'bells and whistles' games of late, FFS: Mystery at McInroy Manor makes up for by offering a complete package of imaginative and immersive game play. The overall plot line and graphics, music, twists and turns and overall 'feel' of the game totally enveloped me with spooky-chills factor and puzzle challenge that kept me tied to my mouse until the end.
The ONLY negative I recall is a few of the H0 scenes were a bit muddled to me; yet part of that could have been due to my having mainly only played adventure games prior to this and therefore I wasn't as adept at spotting items.
I would definitely recommend this game.... just be careful of what may lie around the next corner bwaa haa haaa haa haaaa.
Enjoyed this edition of Dana Knightstone's newest novel based game.... the graphics were fantastic, music great, voiceovers top notch!!! Gameplay encompassed many areas and incorporated quite a few unexpected twists along the way.
Spooky intrigue without the gross factor ~~ loved it.
Basically, you make a bet with some friends to enter "that" proverbial spooky house on the corner that every town seems to have, this one being a mansion which has stood alone and empty for years.... Well, it's actually still completely furnished but a bit worse for wear, yet none of the 'usual' decrepit and depressing scenerios we've been bombarded with in games of late. So, once inside you are trapped by an apparition and must do various tasks for other spirits who had once lived or had connections in the house to free them and in return they assist you in collecting shards of glass from a mirror in order to regain your "self". So you have a dual purpose to save yourself AND the multiiple ghosts who are trapped throughout the mansion, each asking for your assistance to aid them to be free from their own curse, being trapped and in return after you fulfill their requests for assistance, they will uncover a hidden 'shard' to the mirror which will ultimately free you. The mirrors have presumably trapped all the others at varying times for varying reasons by a nemesis with quite the grudge.
Although I've played many games and genres, I must put this one up on the top of the list of quality spooky games. The graphics are pure artistry, vivid, clear, crisp, H0 scenes that contain items all valid to the theme in each and every scene, which are various rooms within the mansion you are "trapped" in. Mini games ditto. All visuals were just a pure pleasure to look at. I took my time playing because I wanted to observe and take everything in along the way.
The "mirror" theme is unique and compelling and although the game in general has a lot going for it in scary factors, there were none of the nasty over- the- top dark themes I dread for example, no excessive grossness, gooey eyeballs, excess masses of crawly spiders & such, gobs of gore, drippy blood, mean and nasty images, nor occult type actions required within the gameplay and unnecessary things that are distasteful put- offs to me. Just a wonderful and spooky game with some "startle moments" and lots of healthy scary format from start to finish.
Gameplay penalties: Misclicks #consistant ones in a row# "crack" the screen... I thought a creative and appropriate penalty to a game where you are traveling from mirrors, yet it does not go overboard in doing so and leaves the player a lot of room for exploring. There are also player experience levels to choose in the beginning as well.
The sound, music and voice all tie in to make for a perfect, fun, and 'cosy' scary game.
KUDOS to the developers and I look forward to their next creation.
Check this one out, I bet you'll love it as much as I did.... in fact, I now wish I had purchased the CE and may do a trade- in at that so I can add to the wonderful and spooky experience I had with the SE!
From the beginning, opening scene, through the somewhat, but not all that, challenging puzzles and the spooky scenerio, this one kept me hooked from start to finish. Most importantly, it was a bit different from the typical game offering of this genre IMO.
There were possibly a few sections that lagged a bit storyline-wise, but for the most part this was an original, captivating and creepy (in a cozy-fun way) game to play with the lights out (and ditto a rainy night, lol).
Kudos to the devs for going a bit out of the box for us with this one.
Enjoyed it very much.... looking forward to more by same designers(?).
