This review is based on the main game finished. The game was o.k. and a bit of a disappointment. This team had put out much much better games in the past, Puppetshow is one of them. This team is still one of my favs. To me this was more on the H0G heavy side and few mini games. I was glad to get this at the coupon price because I wouldn't have paid full for it. The VO's were great. For collectibles you collect stamps and for a gadget you got a gargoyle mirror where you had to find 6 gargoyles and then click the mirror on a red highlighted gargoyle to get an item.
Story: At the opening Adelle is really sick and Isa just happens to show up that time and tells the king he can heal her for a price. The price is her hand in marriage to Isa and the king's kingdom. Adelle doesn't want to marry him and the story continues. If I went any farther I could give the whole story in one or two paragraphs.
Graphics: Absolutely gorgeous. This team never disappoints in these.
Music: Fit nicely with the game and wasn't obtrusive in the least.
H0GS: One silhouette, one puzzle type putting a dinosaur back together, about 3 or 4 story type, and the rest lists with orange extra step words. To me they went overboard on the H0GS in this game this game this time out.
Mini games: One was the type where you had to get more of your kings on the board then his dragons, I loathe this type of mini game, another was 3 mini games in one where you had to put the colored balls into the respective holes and make the 3 disks all one color, Another was a jigsaw putting a panther together, and another was a map one where you need to double click to turn the pieces. At least no sliders or untangle the strings one in the main game. Not sure about the bonus chapter.
Map: Was a jump map with the exclamation points telling you something needed to be done, but at some points she would tell you, you need to look someplace else.
All in all I don't recommend this game. Sorry bunny team. I know you though. You'll come back with a kicker.
I don't recommend this game.

I am loving every loving this game immensely. The VO's are done really well and the game play is downright fun. You have two modes of play Casual and Advanced. Casual you have the sparkles and shorter hint time, and Advanced you have a longer hint time and no sparkles. But with the hint time, I didn't really see a difference between the two. You do quite a bit of exploring in this game which I really love. There is no gadgets to use or nothing like that.
Story: You start of by seeing the couple driving down the road until they come up on this tree that's blocking their way. They get out of the car I guess to see if there is some other way to go. Out of nowhere a big wolf creature goes running after them. As they're running back to the car, she ends up falling into a hole and that's how they get separated. On her way to finding Matt she runs into a nice ghost who's willing to help her to get to the city to find Matt cause the ghost said that's where he is. Near the end of the demo she gives you the whole background of how she and Matt came about.
Graphics: Absolutely awesome. Really done a nice job to enhance the spooky factor.
Music: Creepy. Fits the game really well. It doesn't get overly excited like in some games.
H0GS: I think I played around 3 or 4. You do more exploring than H0GS. They're the list type.
Mini games: On the simple side which I love the change. Very nice ones and nice variety. Tanagram puzzle, turn the rings to get the image, pipe puzzle to unlock a lock to name a few.
Hint system: Helps you really well outside the H0GS. I can't foresee at all getting lost. They also have another type of hint a button with a question mark and 3 arrows. Press on it and it will tell you also where you can go. Not sure if it is in Advanced Mode or not cause I didn't try. They said one of the buttons isn't in Advanced Mode.
All in all a game I am totally looking forward to completing. Kudos to the team for a job well done. I highly recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

I had played the beta of this one and was waiting for it to come out. To me, Elf is really handy in this game, and I don't think the detective would want to go without him. He is a police dog now somewhat. And he barely barks. I hate barking dogs, but he's fine. To me this is an awesome game and doesn't disappoint. The VO's are great and fit the characters. The game play is as smooth as silk. The one gadget you get in the game looks like a pair of binoculars and when you use them you have to so many of a certain object. Yes, the mini game for it is the same with different objects to find, but that to me doesn't matter as it works for what you need them for. In the game for the collectibles you are collecting stars, morphs, and statuettes.
Story: You are on the case to stop the Cold Stalkers. This one professor knew about them and was really obsessed with them, so he went off on a journey (they said they originated in Alaska) to study and see more about them. The way the story sounded is that he bought one of them back in ice and thawed it out and put it in bed for him and a team to study it. When these creatures reach a certain molecular level they can shape shift into anyone they want. He had also bought back the blue orb and put it under lock and key. If the Cold Stalkers get a hold of that orb, they can mind control any human. Well they managed to shape shift to look like Agent Shade and they got a hold of the orb. Now we are off to save the day.
Graphics: Absolutely gorgeous. The mountains are really pretty to stop and look at.
Music: Nice to listen to and fits the game nicely.
Mini games: The ones I came across were: Swap the discs and rotate to get the image, move the shapes to their correct location, match the pairs, one 6 little mini games in puzzle where you get the puzzle hint, and another was put a circuit board together. Nice variety. Not hard for once, just enjoyable.
H0GS: Silhouette, list, list that you had to do on a computer, and collect pairs. Nice variety here too.
Map: The map is a jump map and it did teleport me once to where I had to go. Little person indicates you, exclamation point is something to do. Locked is blocked and question mark is no active task.
I am truly enjoying this game as I have in the with the others in this series. Kudos to the team! I highly recommend this game.

I am loving this game a lot. The VO's fit the characters well, and to me I want to see the rest of the story. On one note. There is only one puzzle that's repetitive, and that one is when you get one of her magics back. But other games have done that too. The main character in the game Veronica Ellard is wonderful as so are the 'good' characters. The collectibles are Runes for the first part and Volardian Crests for the bonus. To find the Runes you must look through the purple scroll you get at the beginning of the game. You have and amulet in the game which starts with 5 different magics and looked like you get a total of six. There are 3 modes in the game casual, advanced, and expert. You also go into the Shadow Realm as well as back to your world.
Story: You play as a Baron (which I thought should be Baroness being female). You get a call from Torwick stating that Volarden is in trouble because Razaroth is trying to take it over. In the meantime Razaroth turned your mom and Torwick into stone statues and you have to save them.
Graphics: Are absolutely beautiful. I see the same graphics as I do in another teams work. I love to stop and look at them.
Music: I love the music Fits the game well and adds to the ambiance of the game.
H0GS: The first one is a F.R.O.G., and the rest are lists where you have to use you inventory items along with your magic. I love them.
Mini games: The one for the portal is a turn on all the lights with the elastic strings. The puzzles in order for you to get your magic back are the same each time just different layouts. Then you have a one that is a get all the pieces a different color without the same color next to each other. Then you have one with the planets putting them in the right order. Just a nice variety of puzzles.
Map: The map has different places of Volarden which are indicated by circles. The circles are divided, one indicating the Shadow Realm and your world. The dark area on the circle is the Shadow Realm. Exclamation points-Tasks available, Lock-Area is blocked, Blue mountain-another map, (just click on the area to get there), Green Circle (around a area circle)-you are there, and Checkmark-Tasks complete. Jump map.
All in all this team did a superior job with this game. Kudos to all of them. I highly recommend this game.

I totally loved this series after I played the first one. I love the creepy feel, the VO's are outstanding, the game play is just fun, and the detective is tops. Mr. Werewolf himself. Though he seems it when he focuses. The only 'special abilities I seen was when he killed a werewolf, he would charge his focus up to give him werewolf strength. When we would want to kill a werewolf, you would have the gun ready, and then play a mini game where you had to have the little ball follow squiggly lines to ready your shot and then you would shoot the gun. Then once the werewolf was dead, the one who was a werewolf would ask you "How did I die"?, and you would have to take the magnifying glass and find 5 blue spots on him and tell him how he died. There is only 11 collectibles. Not a typo lol. Also you put jigsaws together and it tells a little more about your background.
Story: Our wonderful dectective is yet once again sent on a werewolf case. This time Count De Lupe sent the detective a letter stating that he needs help because the werewolves turned extremely hostile. They weren't always like this. They were docile at one time, and then time turned them the other way. The Count calls it a curse and you will see why when you play one of the mini games. He would stay in his study for hours trying to work out a way to get rid of the curse with the help of the pharmacist. Our main goal is to protect Pierre at all cost, while Pierre wants to protect the people. In the meantime his mom talked to the pharmacist and we got the 'cure' for Pierre. Pierre has the curse too, and with the help of the pharmacist we found a cure. Pierre took it, but did it help or not? That's what were going to find out.
Graphics: As always, superb. And they seemed to add a little more to them, as everything was done beautifully and downright spooky.
Music: Really nicely done, and fits the game really well. Adds to the atmosphere.
Mini Games: I admit, the first one I had to use a video. You have a ball and 4 spinning wheels with notches in them and you have to time it just right so the ball lands in each notch to the bottom. You have repeat the sequence. Another is while your reading a story you have to find silhouetted objects and put the statues back where they belong. A nice variety.
H0GS: You have your lists, and silhouettes, a variety.
Map: It is a jump map.
All in all, kudos to the team for a superb game. I highly recommend this game.

This game is beyond awesome. While playing this game I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck constantly standing up. I replayed the other Phantasmats, and imho, I am enjoying this one the most. Caution, Just make sure before you make that trip to the basement you make a trip to the bathroom. VO's are superb. The collectables look like different items, 43 of them, and the souvenirs you can collect in the Extras. Guide covers the locations.
Story: The main character of the game starts off by saying she has 5 minutes to get to a book signing when all of a sudden she's bombarded by a rock avalanche. We end up in locked tunnel. We notice there is missing person posters all over, but they never been found and you'll see why. Oakville turns out to be a very creepy place to be. This story is really something to play and watch as you see what unfolds in Oakville. And find out who this Mr. Nightingale is.
Graphics: Awesome! They couldn't of gotten anymore creepy.
Music: Done very well and definitely adds to the creepiness factor.
Mini Games: Nice variety. The mini games looked like they were made for this game.
H0GS: First one find 5 of 2 different items to unlock the word list, morphing ones, different type.
Map: Radar symbol: Current location, Exclamation point: Something to do, and Question mark: Active location. Jump map.
Again this team did an awesome job on this game. Kudos to all of you. I highly recommend this game.

There are 8 chapters and 1 bonus chapter. This is one of my favorite series. I was happy to see this one. I love the imp who they call Imp. He always goes above and beyond his call of duty. The VO's are fantastic. The only special feature about the game is that you have a Truth Mirror which lets you see things for what they really are and also gives treasures too. The collectibles are morphers and puzzle pieces. From the puzzle pieces, you can put the puzzles together and have them as wallpaper.
Story: As our story began, thanks to Edward, they were able to open a museum in the honor of Lynn's late brother Tom Charleston. The museum name was Tom Charleston Museum of magic. In the museum, Lynn saw an odd mirror. When she put her hand up to it, her eyes started glowing red and she got sucked into the mirror. The evil Morgana wants her to reign as the next queen. The thing is will she reign or will Edward save her in time. Poor mom this time got sucked up by a black shadow so she is in another room of the museum out of commission.
Graphics: Gorgeous and stunning. I just liked to look at them for a little bit.
Music: It's very pretty and fits nice with the game.
Mini games: So far: repeat the sequence, open the drawers with equal numbers, paint a mask, and turn the center of the wheels so you can get the picture on the wheel to match the picture on the outer wheel. Nice variety.
H0GS: You have silhouettes, word lists and then pick up the item under the object you picked up, straight word lists with green extra step words, variety here too.
Map: Exclamation point-You have something to do here, Star-Morphing and Collectible objects, and Little feet-your location. It's a jump map.
The devs really did an awesome job with the game. This to me is above 5 stars. I would love to see a couple more in this series. Or at least one more. Edward, Lynn, Carrie and Imp could put them all out of their misery for good. But it would be nice to see Lynn and Edward's first born :)
I recommend this game!

That man is a downright trip! I love that sidekick to death. And yes he is eye candy for the ladies. Yes I would be old enough to be his mom, but looking at something like that, does motivate the ticker to keep functioning. I hope he and Willa marry. They do have history together, and they would make the perfect couple. The VO's in the game are perfect. The entire game is perfect. This team couldn't have done it any better. The collectibles are morphers and words. The latter is different, and I wonder if there will be something with them. The only special feature I see with this game is that the cursor at different points in the game turn into a picture of Francis, and you have to give him the right tool to do the task.
Story: Queen Elizabeth 1 sends Willa an urgent message saying that Edward, (the little boy she was watching and Willa's student) has been kidnapped by this black shadow spirit. So now it's up to Willa and Francis to get Edward back. On the way over where Edward is, I think poor Willa fell asleep because Francis talked her ear off. Gosh, and they say women are bad in that area, HA! It's actually the men, and they blame us women to get the eyes off of them.
Graphics: Absolutely gorgeous! There is 3D in there too. Really nicely done.
Music: Beautifully done. Fits very well with the game.
Mini games: Nice variety and new ones. They seem to be for this game only. Put the symbol parts together to form the one that is showing, pick three parts of a certain picture to make up the one showing, you have different symbols and you have to match 3 in a certain way to clear the board. Really nice and fun. Thank God so far no sliders, Simon Says, or untangle the strings. Those 3 type can literally die now.
H0GS: Such an awesome variety. Yes you have your use one item to get to another item, but them you put the items into a book with a mini story. Find the pairs, just different varieties.
Map: Question mark for undiscovered, Exclamation point you have something to do there, and Little Person to show where you are. Jump map.
I want to thank this team for an exceptional and fun game. You can see this game was very well thought out and the love went into it. Kudos to this team. I highly recommend this game. Infinite stars.

I bought the game cause I loved the beta, and usually I give this team 5 stars for their games, but this time it's just is not clicking. The fun factor just isn't there for me in this one. I will mention why in more detail below. The VO's are awesome. The gruesome parts don't bother me as I am a huge fan of the ID (Investigation Discovery Channel), it's just that this team has done much better imho. I love Detective games, they are one of my favorites, but still.
Story: The Avenger is wreaking havoc in this town murdering people, and according to him people are going to die anyways, so he's just speeding up the process. The detective is trying to put a stop to the madness, but he is always one step ahead. He keeps putting up obstructions and we have to go around the obstacles he's putting out in order to catch him. And the story goes.
Graphics: This team usually has one of the best graphics out there besides a couple of others. But this game with the constant gloomy rainy scenes is getting a bit much.
Music: Good. It fits with the game.
H0GS: You visit the same scenes 2 maybe 3 times. Some interactive and one find so many of one object. This is one of the reasons I put fun factor as good. Getting boring. And on the H0G heavy side. In fact the last couple of their games were imho. I am on the 4th chapter writing this review.
Mini Games: One was you are on horseback chasing the Avenger who's on horse and buggy, and you have to shoot the bombs he is throwing out of the back of the carriage and if you miss your progress goes down. I did it and loathed it. So frustrating. Another was Simon Says which I am thoroughly sick of along with Sliders, another was turn the discs and put the grapes in order. Another was a lock door puzzle where you had to put the colored light on the match circles. That took 63 steps to complete. Tower of Hanoi, I like those. But most frustrating not fun.
Map: I have been using the hint button since the map doesn't have the exclamation points to tell you you have a task here to complete. I miss that. I like the exclamation points because it makes it easier to follow. So I've been using the hint button, not the map.
Hint System: As mentioned above, awesome.
So like I said, to me this is good game, not great. Try it before you buy it. I IMHO wouldn't recommend this game.
I don't recommend this game.

My God is this team busy! Between this team and another team, we won't be in a short supply of games, that's for sure! This game is off the hook! This team couldn't of done any better with it. The story is awesome as so is the VO's. Our little main character Carol is such a breath of fresh air and really a true delight. The mechanics in this game run very smoothly. There are no permanent animal helpers, but there is one time you have to use a dog and she leaves after. In the beta version the only 'gadget' you get is a camera that you take pics of codes, or whatever needs to be remembered. No special abilities in beta. In the game your collectibles are 60 flowers. And from what it looks like, you get little gifts from collecting them. My advice please is to look at the strategy guide for the locations of the flowers. The reason being is like in the beginning of the game if you don't get the one on the birthday card, you will miss it. You'll either have to go on with the game, or restart the game to collect it. Also click on different items in and out of H0GS to get a little background of that object or a cutscene.
Story: You may be nice and cozy in your bed sleeping, but the dream you're having is a nightmare. A nightmare of an orphan girl named Allie Rice who becomes your worst nightmare in real life. Your clock reminds you it's your birthday, and you just turned sweet 16. But as your day goes on, there will nothing sweet about it. You open the present your mom and dad gave you and you go downstairs and see all the things ready for a party. The only problem is, no mom and dad. A friend of yours comes over and asks if your parents are home and you find out neither are hers or any other kids in the city. So off you go on a search for them, and when you step outside you get another surprise. And on the story goes.
Graphics: Superior. Crisp and clear even in the H0GS. Beautifully done.
Music: I especially love the music at the main menu in the game, and the in game music really adds to the creepiness factor.
Mini Games: There was quite a few mini games and a very nice variety. I found that there was more mini games than H0GS, which I don't mind in the least.
H0GS: There is a variety of H0GS, silhouettes, and others.
Map: Question mark-Unexplored, Checkmark-Area complete, Exclamation Point-Task to do there, and Lock-Blocked Area. It's a jump map.
All in all I am just loving this game. Interesting story and really fun to play. Kudos to this team! Superior job.
