Whoever wrote this has clearly never read a Sherlock Holmes story! Holmes NEVER took the credit from Scotland Yard - on the contrary, he usually made a point of giving them the credit when he did all the work. This story is insulting to Holmes fans, and clearly attempting to just cash in on the name. On top of all that, it was simply boring - and short. There was no challenge in any of the puzzles, and the story itself went nowhere, with no explanation of the orange pips idea or why we were supposed to care. And it ended abruptly. I'd give it zero stars, if I could, I feel totally ripped off.
This was so short, it feels like only half a game... and where's the "monster"?? The title is misleading, the storyline is boring (and the same as countless other games) and the "puzzles" are simple - the only thing "Holmes" about this is her name, his face popping up every now and then in a portrait, and some random name-dropping. If you want a basic, quick game, get this one - it won't tax your brain - but if you want anything resembling Holmes, or even something "different", pick something else... I am so disappointed.. :(
This is one of the least challenging, or interesting, games I've ever 'played'. You spend this whole game being handed the things you need with no explanation ("Here is this thing you need to defeat the bad guy - I just happen to have it, don't worry about how I got it." One of the characters literally says this!!), and playing the same old boring mini-games, and then playing them again in the bonus (yawn) chapter! I bought this after the trial because it looked really interesting, obviously the developers only bother for the first twenty minutes or so, but don't care once they have your money. I was so disappointed - I could only buy one game and chose this from a list of possibles, because I have liked so many in this series - wish I could go back and choose again...
This started off so promising that I bought it half way through the demo - but it turned out to be so short, and so ridiculously easy, I probably should have waited. Super disappointed that I couldn't go back and replay the mini-games!! Nor could I go back and find the one missing morph that stops me from gaining perfect achievements... These Cadenza games always make a welcome change from skeletons, demons and ghosts, so it has that going for it, but not much else. Overall disappointing for me, but probably a rare game that my tween daughter can play, so I recommend for younger players.
I did enjoy this, but thought it was short. The minigames were really good, and that's the main reason for my rating - some I've not seen before, and some I really had to concentrate on, (but also some that were very basic, too). The idea of game worlds combining is not an original one, so this game isn't really much of a novelty, but these ones are some of my favourites, so it works for me. Standard extras, not very impressive, but the bonus chapter seemed a good length. Of course the name tells us that this is the start of a series, and I guess that might explain the abrupt ending, so I will be keeping my eye on it.
I've only done the demo but won't be bothering to go any further - this could be any game, there's nothing "Mystery Trackers" about it - and the game itself is bland at best. Sure, if you haven't played many games, and you've never played an early (ie 1-10) Mystery Trackers, this is an ordinary, easy game - but you're better off going back and playing the classics instead...
Wow, what a disappointment this was!! So short, and no challenge whatsoever. It looks beautiful, but that's about the only positive thing to say about it. Did I say short?? And what on earth does Alice In Wonderland have to do with Christmas?? There are so many classic Christmas ideas they could have used.... and what's with the Harry Potter theme music playing all the time? My ten-year-old daughter will probably like it, but I feel totally ripped off.
That was one of the lamest games I've ever played! Actually it was only HALF a game - once again SE buyers have been ripped off. And why did they bother to label it "Mystery Trackers"? If you don't have Elf with you (and you can actually choose to leave him behind), it could be any other basic game. Parallel worlds? Time machines? But no Mystery Trackers "gadget". Yawn...
Yet another game where the SE version ends in what feels like a cut scene that will continue in the CE! I'm starting to get really annoyed at these developers who treat SE buyers as second-class citizens - do we not deserve a full game for our money?? I am so disappointed, as I was really enjoying this, then all of sudden it ended when there is clearly more to do. Really unfair. If you don't care about that, this was ok, although I thought the games were really easy. I've ticked "recommend" because what I did get was all right.
You've been asked to cover a highly anticipated competition in New York City when something goes terribly wrong. Can you escape the world of illusions?
It starts off so promisingly, but then just turns into a mess - it's as thought someone had lots of ideas but not enough to make each into a full game so they've just thrown them all together here. And I am SO SICK of SE games being only half a game - it stops so suddenly you just know it is because the next scene is the CE extra bit - there is so much left unexplained, although the explanation is clearly important to the game. It's not fair - if you don't want to make a full SE game, don't bother - I feel ripped off.
