Excellent length of game and bonus feature, also gives you bonus minigames! Challenge of game is above average, esp because the haunted souls are hard to find, unlike a lot of the morphing objects in other games.
Any game that allows you to turn off voice overs gets extra props from me. Thank you Thank you Developers!
HOS are good. This game kept my interest, plenty of places to go and things to see.
Could have been creepier, but still a CE worth the price. I give this 4.5 stars really.
I recommend this game!

What a sappy game. If the storyline wasn't bad enough, the game insults everyone's intelligence by telling you exactly what to do the moment you click on the item.
Example: click on lock "oh the door is locked but I'm sure I'll find what I need to (advance the game) here.." And this is "expert mode".
Another: "oh the fishing rod is broken so I can't reel it in to see what's on the hook". duh. No, unfortunately it's broken so I can't reel in the line to strangle myself to end the misery of this game.
Maybe a 6 or 7 yr old would have fun. Should have been marketed as a game for young children.
I don't recommend this game.

Didn't like the plot at first, the tired old "mother saving the daughter" stuff, but it got better and spookier. LOVE the creepy, ghoulish, sometimes even gross graphics! And THANK YOU developers for letting me turn off the voices but still have sound.
This game is a very good length, as is the bonus scene.
Downsides: way too much handholding and hints even on expert mode. HOGs and FROGs are not too challenging, but I had fun playing this game anyway.
I recommend this game!

I laughed so hard as when I finally got to meet the villain/ghost/evil spirit. Looks like a robot a 8 yr old built out of scrap metal, pretty scary lol !
Also, I didn't realize that if I ever meet a vicious snarling ghost dog, all I have to do is pet it and it will go away :o. good to know!
Otherwise the game isn't too bad, apart from the terrible human actors. The story has a few holes, the ending (bonus) just leaves you hanging, like they just ended the game cuz they ran out of ideas.. very surprised there weren't any hidden object scenes like most of this developer's games, but there still was a lot to do.
An average CE, not very challenging even on advanced mode. Good length to regular game and bonus play.
I recommend this game!

The storyline starts out okay but then goes off on other tangents, and the title also misleads you. The ending is terrible, looks like the developers ran out of ideas and just ended the game.
Hidden object scenes are okay, one game play mode only, and the dreaded sparkles everywhere. This game is definitely easy enough for beginners.
The robot helper is an interesting idea but there are few chances to use him, and half the time he tells you "sorry I'm out of power".
BIG thank you to the developers for not having voiceovers or human actors, really can't stand those.
Summary: wait and buy this as a deal of the day and you might get your money's worth.
I don't recommend this game.

Aside from the overused minigames, this game's fun factor was really destroyed for me by 3 things: the leading in the comments, the plot with holes so big you could drive a truck through them, and the worst journal I've ever experienced in a CE. I played on the hardest mode, but there is no challenge.Together the journal and the comments lead you way too much, and tell you what to do before you've even encountered some of the scenes. All in all, its lazy or sloppy on the part of the developers.
Had this plot been worked better, it could have been a great creepy game. The insertion of the human "actors" also did nothing for the game. Even the beginning players will be able to win the minigames with ease.
A few good things: on hard mode you really don't get sparkles and have to find HOS scenes yourself (yay!). And a few of the wax figures are truly creepy, but they could have done so much more.
This is not making me a huge fan of the "Dark Dimensions" series. The first was better. Will definitely preview the next before I buy, and it will need to improve a lot over this one.
I don't recommend this game.

Love the concept of the plot of the "House of 1000 Doors" Series. Hope they keep making them. unique storyline, good hidden objects, good games. graphics are good. could be spookier but still fun for those of us who like creepy ghost games.
only gripe is doesn't she ever change clothes? Or does she live 24/7 in a fancy dress and pearl necklace?
I recommend this game!

A hidden object game with the usual minigames. The length is well worth the CE price, and the bonus game is a decent length. The hidden object scenes are good and have interesting graphic touches. The minigames are mostly easy and other than the dreaded "repeat the sequence" fun. And if you play on advanced or expert you really don't get sparkles highlighting things to do!! Unfortunately the journal and comments lead you way too much so I stopped reading the journal.
The voice overs are awful, the main character sounds like a slow mo character like Homer Simpson's "noooooooooooooooo".
The plot: I have a hard time seeing anything related to Flying Dutchman/Davy Jones without seeing the SpongeBob character, and what's with the fangs? And how stupid is the girl: WARNING PLOT SPOILER "well you killed all my family/friends and chained me up and left me to die a horrible death but if you're sorry I'll forgive you". Really.
My recommendation: wait for the SE and buy it on sale or with a free game coupon.
I recommend this game!

I'm always pleasantly surprised when an SE is a decent length. This game is a great value, puzzles could have been harder. Plot is pretty routine but still good. HIdden object scenes moderately challenging. . The graphics were a little robotic,The zombies are more comical than scary, esp the "mob" of zombies. Still a lot of fun and nicely creepy. I would definitely play the sequel if they make one
I recommend this game!

This is such a unique game, more adventure than anything but well worth playing. Puzzles aren't too hard but the plot and other aspects make up for it. Probably not for kids, it has a fairly serious plot.
