This game actually has an engaging story line and it was fun in that regards. The graphics were definitely blurry at times, especially with the help device, so an improvement here was be nice. There were two issues with the game that resulted in the removal of two stars from my review (1) The blonde female character wins 1st place for the most annoying, lisping, VO in gaming history in my opinion and all she does is stand around and stare at things. (2) The game has countless illogical steps. These are things that almost guarantee the use of hint because they are so ridiculous. One or two would be excusable but it seemed like they occurred from beginning to end of the game. I suspect Eipix was trying to make the game more challenging but this was the WORST and most ANNOYING way to accomplish that.
I got this game with a coupon. While the story is very good, Madhead needs a serious upgrade on graphics. You would honestly need to go back 7-8 years to find games on BFG with graphics this bad. Everything is like a poorly drawn cartoon. For me, this really distracts from the story. Also, most of the puzzles are so easy that I young kid could easily solve them. Come on Madhead, you can do better than this!
To be honest, when I bought this game I wasn't sure if I was going to like it at all. I had low expectations despite the mostly positive reviews. Surprisingly, I'm about half way through it and I'm really enjoying it! Yes, there are the annoying logic flaws that seem to plague most BFG games these days. (I really wish developers would realize that these truly are an insult to our intelligence.) That said, I do recommend it....after trialing it of course.
I played the demo for about 20 minutes and that's all that I could tolerate. Eipix used to get kudos for exquisite graphics. Those days are obviously long gone. This is just a blurry, thrown-together mess. I wouldn't want it even as a free game. Plus there's the added "bonus" that Eipix games have become ridiculously short. At least I'm saving money these days with so few games to buy.
Other reviewers have done a good job of reviewing the story, so I won't do that here. This game is just so bad, I found myself laughing out loud during the short trial that I gave it. Bad graphics. Extremely short game (you can always tell by the size of the download file). I'm frankly bummed out. It seems the fun days of BFG are just about over. I rarely buy that many CEs anymore. While, everyone has different tastes, I also have to laugh at the 5 star reviews for this. I strongly suggest you trial before buying even if you are a Madhead fan.
I won't waste time rehashing the story of this game, as others have already done that. My review is simple...cheap graphics and a very short game. Those two points sum up this game best. Ever since BFG did away with tech support and moved to low tech graphics, everything has gone down hill. The latest move now seems to be VERY short games, as this game once again shows. Well, this fish refuses to bite any longer!
I'm not going to review the story of this game at all as others do a better job of that. I found this game to be unbelievably badly done. Thankfully, I trialed it first. It's indicative of so many other BFG offerings these days: cartoon graphics, very short game play, bad story line, and logic that is an insult to our intelligence.
This review will be short. I was bored to tears with this game. There was absolutely nothing about it that was remotely fun or engaging. I unfortunately bought it but uninstalled it with in an hour of playing it. I just couldn't overcome my disinterest. This is such a common issue with Eipix games...start with a bang and then die a painful, slow, boring death.
I'm not sure what happened to AMAX. Ever since they changed their name from ERS, the games have gone down the tubes. Very short games, poor quality graphics, and stories that leave much to be desired. This game is just a terribly awkward mess. I really hope they find their groove once again. As it is, I can't recommend this game.
