It's been a long time since I gave a 5 star review. The developer has done a terrific job with this game. Beautiful graphics, moderate to challenging puzzles, and a great story line. Not much else to say but that I loved it. Give the trial a spin. You might like it too!
What has big fish games become.....here's one answer...an endless stream of serial games done to the lowest standards of quality possible. This game is typical of AMAXs most recent fair. In a nutshell, it's bottom rung quality and an endless array of the same bland tasks we've seen a thousand times over. This game is short and boring. If you don't trial it before buying...well, it's your wasted money. This series should have died about 7-8 games ago.
I bought this game and honestly thought I would end up kicking myself for doing so. Thankfully, I was wrong. I think Eipix did a great job of pulling together all of the elements from past MCF games. I also see why the reviews are so polarized. If someone never played the very early MCF games, they would definitely be put off by the way the game is structured. Especially the countless HOPS. My only gripe is why oh why did they choose to do such a cheesy job on the characters. Based on the earlier games I see no logical reason for it and it really keeps this from being a 5 star game.
This game is just plain awful. Bad/childish graphics. Ridiculous numbers of keys/amulets. Completely illogical/nonsensical tasks and the same game play as the last 12 months of games on BFG. There's only one good thing to say about this and all of the other recent games. I'm saving money by not purchasing them. I will say that Elephant was once my fave developer but those days are long gone. Maybe BFG needs some new developers with fresh ideas for a change!
This game has ok graphics and an OK story but my gosh does it get boring. I'm about 50% through it and I'm having to force myself to complete it because it's just so blah. The VO's don't help either. When things do start to happen the VO's sound like "we're bored too". Further, the "valley" or "vocal fry" voices combined with the "Kardashian lisp" of the female characters absolutely don't fit the game. Kudo's for a long game, but please make it more exciting the next time!
Well...that's it. Domini was the last holdout for high-end graphics on BF games. Now, they've joined the rest in low-en cartoons. I've never been big on Domini's stories. They just usually are very blah. The only reason I continued buying them was for the graphics. Now that they've downgraded, I won't be buying anymore of their games. Sorry, but it seems BFG adventure games keep sinking to new lows with each passing month. I downloaded the trial and uninstalled it in about 10 minutes. How is it possible to get bored with a game that fast? Download the trial, and you'll understand. I DO suggest you trial it instead of relying on the usual cheerleader reviews.
I trialed this for just a few minutes before purchasing it. It has become my favorite series ever since "Shadowland." In fact, this developer has trumped the Elephant for me as my fave developer. Of course, for me, graphics (while good here) are never "good enough." I long for the return of the days when BFG developed most of its major games and each iteration was better than the one before in terms of overall quality. That aside, definitely give this game a try to see if it's a game for you!
After so many negative reviews lately, I'm happy to finally give a positive review of a game and this one deserves it! The graphics in the scenes is very well done. The challenge is just right for me and this game makes you think a little instead of just hand-holding all the way through. I'm almost finished with the main game (purchased) and it has been consistently well-done throughout. One criticism is that the cut-scenes were not all that great, but this is a problem across nearly all developers on BFG - and one that I wish would be corrected. Well done cutscenes can't add that much to download size nor should they stress lower end machines to cause support issues. That aside, my hat is off to this smaller developer for a great game!
I didn't even play the demo for very long. There was just nothing about it that appealed to me. The download size of the full game points to a very short game overall also. The graphics were simplistic and cheesy. Tastes vary, so give a try before you buy.
I bought this after giving it a brief trial. Initially, I thought I wouldn't like it when I first saw it, but I just finished the entire game and found it enjoyable. I wasn't the biggest fan of the washed-out color scheme chosen for it, and there were a few quirky game mechanics at times (but nothing that was a showstopper). I was also concerned about play length at the start but that was OK as well. I will give it a recommendation, but I do suggest a trial to see if it's for you.
