This game is fun and interesting but I looked at the clock and I was about 75% through it in an 1.5 hrs. That's just way to short. And the puzzles are so easy that they are laughable. I've only encountered one of medium difficulty so far.
I know everyone likes different things, but I really liked this game. To put that in perspective, this developer has typically been one of my least favorites. Some have mentioned the drab colors in this game, but I found that to match what was going on perfectly. The animations and graphics were very well done also, which seems to be a rare thing on BFG these days. As always, I suggest you trial the game for yourself.
This review is based on the purchased game. If you like fairly difficult puzzles and lots of them, this is the game for you. I'm about 50% through the game and it has held my attention so far and I'm enjoying playing it. Note, that I do not review the story because I feel most reviewers that do so spoil the entire game.
I found this to be a fun and well-done game. I never got bored with the game play. It was a fairly long game also. it showed much more originality in many respects to most of the games being offered here recently. It's also very similar in style to the games by another developer on BFG. At the very least I recommend that you give it a trial.
I'm not quite sure how this ever even got released. I don't like dogging a game so badly, but the developer needs to take a step back and rethink their whole approach to game creation. To be honest, I wouldn't even use a coupon for this.
I'll keep this review short.....just like the game. I don't understand what is going on with Eipix these days but each new game is getting shorter. I can finish most of their main games in about 2 hrs. I've gotten to the point of mainly getting their games with a coupon code until they upgrade the value.
I thought this game was done pretty well. It's a different take on Christmas and Oz. That said, there were some issues. One is the voice-over for the wicked witch was like fingers down a chalkboard. It sounded more like a high school brat instead of a wicked witch. The biggest issues was the large number of spelling issues. This is becoming a bigger and bigger issue on BFG. Marry instead of Merry. Farry instead of Fairy.
4Friends has become my new favorite developer recently. This is another great game from them. That said, they are already starting to show the same "cut-corners" on graphics as other BFG developers....the ridiculous pencil drawing cut-scenes. This is such a cheesy and quality-lowering move on the part of BFG. One of the things that makes an adventure game great are well-done cut-scenes. Come on!
First off, I highly suggest that you trial this before buying it. Glad that I did so. I pay attention to the amount of hard drive space that the game says is needed (not the demo size). All games show this if you look. We have to go all the way back to 2009-2010 to see a hard drive space requirement of only 560MB for a CE. That's a key indication of the length/quality of the game. The demo proved this to be true. Eipix games generally are getting shorter and shorter. As for the game itself, it's one big bore. This is another series that has past it's bedtime.
This is a good game. I love all MCF games. My primary issue with it is how short it is. What gives with most BF games getting shorter and shorter? The price to value ratio keeps dropping and I'm less and less inclined to continuing playing these games.
