This game is very different. Admittedly, I only made it through the first few screens but if you are into 360 degree (Plus up and down) scenarios, you will love it. The cursor is quite small and only appears when you scroll around and land on something you can act on. Since the game takes your entire screen, you will need to hit ESC to see your inventory.
The format really sets this game apart and it looked like the story would probably be good but I don't like format so didn't really get into it. If you are more flexible than I am, you might just love it. Because it is such a different visual experience, I do urge people to download the trial before purchasing.

This is the third and newest of the Final Cut series and I love the entire series. If there is a down side, it's that so far there are only three, but there is plenty of room for more stories, so I am hopeful that there will be more.
Like its predecessors, Death on the Silver Screen and Encore, Homage boasts a gripping story, terrific graphics and non-stop action. It has multiple parts so saving the day isn't necessarily the end but a prelude to the next step in the mystery. I love the camera giving us different scenes rather like another favorite series, Secrets of the Dark.
Like its predecessor, it has a lot of puzzles but even though I generally dislike puzzles, they were so well done, that I enjoyed most of them. The hidden object scenes took a variety of forms and did not become tedious. The only thing I didn't like about this game was that it is over and now I have to watch and wait for another installment in the series.
I do recommend playing this series in order, Death on the Silver Screen followed by Encore then Homage. They can be done and still enjoyed out of order, but it would mess up the continuity.

This follow up to Final Cut, Death on the Silver Screen is just outstanding. It's smooth, sophisticated and tells a very interesting story. It has a lot of puzzles but they are so well done, that puzzle hating me actually enjoyed most of them. The hidden object scenes take a variety of formats and don't get tiresome.
I have been trying to think of something less rosy to keep my review balanced, but nothing negative comes to mind. I could say it was too short, but in fact, it wasn't short at all, it was just so enjoyable at every step that it was over too soon.
Since this is continuous story, I do recommend playing Death on the Silver Screen first, just to keep things in order in a series you are sure to love. Off to play the sequel!
I didn't find anything to like about this game during the fifteen minutes I played it before deleting it. I had no feeling for who the characters were or why they were there except that the main character seemed like a sketchy person. I didn't like the puzzles and could vacuum the living room while waiting for the skip button.
Movement through the game was very awkward, clicking on arrows rather than the more natural movement of clicking in the direction you want to go. The graphics were rather primitive. It felt like something out of the mid-nineties. Maybe I should have given it longer but the music set me on edge and made me impatient and cranky with it even faster.

Rarely do I buy a game without a trial first, having been stung in the past. I did with this one, based solely on the reviews. The only reason I gave it five stars is because there is no six star rating available!
First, the HOS had a variety that I have not seen any other game cover. They were often difficult, not because of trickery, just very well done graphics. Several times I had to resort to the hint button to find that last object and every time it was right there in plain sight, I just couldn't spot it. The puzzles are largely good, even for a puzzle hater like me.
The story was interesting all the way through. The music, well fantastic just doesn't cover how good it was or how plentiful. This is much more than just a good HOS game, it is exceptional.

I love the Secrets of the Dark series and was definitely watching for the next game but I really didn't enjoy it. The reason I found it disappointing will actually be a positive for some people. The issue is too many puzzles. I don't mind one now and then, but it seems like there is a new puzzle every twenty seconds or so. I prefer HOS and generally find puzzles, even easy ones, annoying. They interrupted the story line and made me feel impatient and bored, couldn't wait to get it finished.
If you are like me and don't care for the puzzles, I would give this one a pass. If, on the other hand, you really like puzzles, this game was made for you.

This is a truly visually stunning game! I felt like I had my money's worth during the opening tour. I have not noticed the publisher Magicindie Softworks but I will be looking for them now! Glamor aside, the game itself had quite a complex board but the map was more than adequate. There were perhaps a few too many puzzles for my taste, but that is good news to puzzle fans. The HO scenes were good and often built something. The story was unlikely, but it's fantasy and it was kept interesting through a fairly long game.
All in all, I am only giving this one five stars because there is not six star rating available.

How do you say gorgeous graphics? Elephant Games! This one meets or exceeds their standards from the first screen. The story is definitely different and they have a nice blend of HOS and mini-games. If I had to come up with a complaint, it would be that it didn't last long enough, but then, I couldn't step away from it till it was finished either, so that was my fault!

I was a little "iffy" on this one from the descriptions but I enjoyed it completely. Admittedly, I could see the end coming from quite a ways out, but getting there was still thoroughly enjoyable. Some of the HOS scenes were fairly easy, some were very challenging. The same can be said of the mini-games. Good one!
As one would expect from this Dark Parables series by Blue Tea Games, this story was beautifully done. They actually turned a fairy tale into quite a nice story, with not much of a resemblance to the original (which is a good thing). The graphics were beautifully done. I like the way they use HOS to build something to be used later in the story. The music they used during the HO scenes was hauntingly beautiful. I almost hated to finish the scenes because the lovely music stopped.
Good story, likable characters, beautiful graphics and some great music. This one is definite winner!
