I lasted less than five minutes with that squeaky voiced, annoying fairy constantly interrupting and annoying. It's like the tutorial from hades that you can't turn off. Going to try the other games in the series in hopes that they took that stupid thing out. If they didn't, they won't last five minutes either.
I don't recommend this game.

The strongest point of this game were the HOS. They were quite challenging. The story was interesting, so far I was I was able to go, but to me not compelling enough to continue with it. The visual was a poor mixture of video and cartoon-like pictures used to advance the story. The sound was annoying and did not shut off when the game was paused which necessitated exiting it completely at night.
Technical glitches prevented me from completing this game. It might have been possible had I chosen to reinstall, but it just wasn't that good.
I don't recommend this game.

I really liked this one! The story was great. I could perhaps have been a bit more challenging but for me, the puzzles made sense and were less aggravating than most, the HO scenes we not difficult but had an extra twist and the story was great. I hope there will be sequels!
I recommend this game!

This is the third and maybe final (maybe not) in the Nightfall Mysteries series. I was a little confused at the beginning due what seemed a conflict with the end of Curse of the Opera, but I decided to overlook it and just take this one as the story was set up. The publishers fixed the little glitches I encountered in the first two stories as well as the slightly off descriptors in the HOS scenes from the first two. I have liked these stories throughout and was pleased to be able to give this one five stars with the technical improvements.
Again, the game was fairly long, which I like, I feel like I get my money's worth. I don't like puzzles and tend to skip about half of them. This one definitely had some puzzles that over reached my patience, which is good news for puzzle lovers. For my fellow puzzle dislikers, there is a Skip button!
I recommend this game!

Second in the Nightfall series, this takes the next step in the story of Viggo and Christine. There were a couple of narrative flaws that left me a little confused at the beginning of Black Heart, but I just chose to overlook them. This is also the worst of the three for descriptor errors in the HOS scenes. The writer does not appear to be a native English speaker but things were not so far off than they couldn't be guessed.
I wish I had played these stories in order, this is the second in the series after Asylum and Asylum does set the stage for this story, though all can be enjoyed independently, it's preferable to play them in order.
I recommend this game!

I do wish I had realized that this is the first in the series of the three Nightfall Mysteries. I played it second so was a bit out of sync with the story. I usually steer clear of asylum stories because they creep me out, but this one did not, it was not an asylum story per se, but a mystery story and it was an interesting story that set the stage for the next two segments. Each will stand on it's own, but best to play the series.
All three of these stories is fairly long, but you get your money's worth! I didn't like some of the puzzles, but that is a good sign for puzzle fans. A few HOS descriptors were a bit off for American users, calling a screw a nail for example but it doesn't take long to figure out to click things are close.
I recommend this game!

This game has a very intriguing story line. I just did the free trial of the SE, and it promptly made the top of my "buy" list. It's an Elephant Game so you know the graphics and sound quality are excellent but, as always, it's the story hooked this "fishie"!
Can't wait to go finish it...

I really liked this one. It was long but I was sorry when it was over. You really must set aside a few things, like the heroine of the story in a long a dress making long, regular climbs from building to building on a rope, up down and over many obstacles with heaven knows what for shoes on, but that is worth a smile as you play.
The story was complex and interesting. The map even more extensive and complex. Most of the HOS were challenging, the puzzles were either okay or aggravating (when I call a puzzle aggravating that is good for puzzle fans because I don't like them), and the story was a bit like a book you don't want to put down. All in all, I really recommend this game and hope there are more like it in the future.

The story sometimes took some rather bizarre leaps, but I found the puzzles in this one to be do-able with a little thought and fairly minimal aggravation. The HOS scenes, however, is where this one shined. They were some of the more difficult I have encountered. Some of the difficulty was the description of the object, always accurate but often evoking a different image than I had in my mind, sometimes there were a bit dark, but mostly, it was just very, very skillful design that concealed them. Well done!
I recommend this game!

If you love puzzles, this is the one for you. If, like me, you hate them, steer clear. It seems like there is a new puzzle every minute or two and many of them seemed way to obscure. This is a good example of why I really need to use the free play time before buying. The game appears to be well done enough, but I quit less than an hour in because there are just too many puzzles.
I don't recommend this game.
