The graphics are amazing! Each little detail, even the rain drops were so pretty, the underwater scenes also really good. This was a very challenging game, the puzzles took a lot of thought and patience.
My reasons for only 4 stars: A lot of the tasks took laser precision. I'd click and click knowing that this lighter was supposed to light that fuse, but still nothing until the 20th click in the same exact spot! Also, the hints outside of the HO scenes were vague and unhelpful, and often pointed me to a task that I was not able to complete yet instead of leading me to the next step. There's no voice over at all, I feel like that would have made it more enjoyable. Lots and lots of reading involved.
Other than that though, I loved the game. I usually blow through them rather quickly so I enjoyed taking my time with this. The dialogue and the journal were funny and witty, and make sure you click on everything! Except the puffer fish... I liked using my inventory to help find HO. The HO scenes were hard but enjoyable, some of those items are tiny! There were a LOT of hard underwater HO scenes, but hey that's why I play I guess. Found items did not pop back up, definitely a plus.
I also liked how the game progressed in stages, that way I wasn't worried about missing something waaaay back at the beginning!
There wasn't a lot of backtracking, once you passed a certain point in the game you don't have to return. Fun and original puzzles and tasks. Great graphics although they were a bit depressing.
The HO scenes were ok, they sometimes became excessive, I completed one and a second later I was back to the same one again.. Also some items were placed back and some weren't, and you'll be finding the same things over and over... funnel, spoon, binoculars etc. Each time items were slightly different, which begs the question why not create something different rather than repeating the same thing?
The game was long and kept my interest, there were tons of new scenes to explore! I don't like games that are scary for no darn reason and this was appropriate, HO and adventure without being too creepy.
I gave this a shot despite warnings about the ending. My first impression is that the graphics and game play are very old-school. The first voice-over from the little girl and the grating little evil character were enough to dissuade me. I didn't make it far and will not be purchasing.
Challenge yourself in the role of the scientist-historian-scholar of ancient civilizations and mystical legends and save your friend from the Demon of Darkness!
I like it, I'm not fond of overly scary games so this was just right for me. However I would have liked it better without the morphing scenes, I found it more confusing than normal to figuring out where to put a particular object, and going back and forth and then changing the lighting became tedious.
Overall though I found it fun and relaxing, I won't be playing any other versions though.
First of all, I loved the title character's voice. It was so captivating to hear for an American.
I also love Asian culture so this struck a particular interest with me. There were a lot of beautiful scenes. Making the recipe and the potion were nice additions that I really enjoyed.
I am not fond of the creepy games with the ghosts and goblins, so if you like hidden objects without the scare factor then this is for you!
Dive into an epic journey as a museum owner in pursuit of an undead pirate who has kidnapped your daughter in Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart!
This was my first hidden objects game and i loved every minute of it! i'm a huge fan of pirates of the Caribbean and it threw a little of the story line into the plot. Lots of fun! The extra game at the end kept me busy for a while too.
