I started playing Azada: In Libro and loved it, but after reading the reviews of people complaining that it wasn't true "Azada" I decided to give this a try to see what all the fuss is about.
And they were right! Whereas Azada: In Libro is a relaxing adventure game, this is straight puzzles with timers. The timer put me off immediately, so fair enough, this review is based on about 1 minute of the game. But I play games to relax not to stress about how long it will take me to finish.
I will not be buying!
I don't recommend this game.

The game is long and has a lot of substance, although they can go ahead and call it Revenge of the Random Bas-Relief.
The develops seem to know the tediousness of their game though and added some tongue in cheek humor throughout.
The game is similar to the Citadels of Time, which is the only other that I've played in the series. I'll need a break before I tackle another one, there's a lot of quality game here, but the style of game play gets old after a while.
The developers don't hesitate to run you all over the place with no map, rarely does a location completely exhaust itself.
Two pluses, the HO scenes are done well and are not frequent, thank goodness. And the hint system is delightful, it shows you a picture of your next task.
I recommend this game!

I absolutely loved the music and Venetian scenery, even if it was a little gloomy. Giovanni at the store was a nice touch, you can buy things from him to help you in the game.
I can't say enough about the beautiful hand painted graphics, and there were plenty of locations to give you a nice view of Venice. I've been there before and it looked familiar to me.
There isn't a ton of running back and forth, you will gradually use previous locations less and less.
There are a lot of HO scenes, more than I would have liked, however they weren't terrible.. no junk piles, objects weren't replaced after you've found them (yeay!), and the locations were inventive and realistic.
The hint system was the typical "nothing to do here" which was aggravating, but besides that it was a very relaxing game.
I recommend this game!

This was a humorous little time management game, I loved the commentary from the customers.
The game changed enough to keep me interested, and it was hard! Thank goodness for the beginner level or I wouldn't have lasted.
I recommend this game!

Well, I finished. I feel accomplished for that. And the artwork and music were nice, but the game just wasn't fun. You will have to click a LOT to find everything. I did like some of the puzzles, but some were extremely frustrating. There's no skip option, and the puzzle hints aren't helpful, so you're either stuck or need the walkthrough.
Most of the time I got to where I only needed one or more of something, and had to click a bunch of bugs just to get a hint, which would usually point me to a puzzle piece instead of something I actually needed.
If you take your time, are extremely patient, and don't mind being constantly stuck, then you might like this. I was doing ok until about half-way through and then I just couldn't wait to finish.
I don't recommend this game.

Pros:
--A mix of realistic graphics and cartoon characters, strange, nothing to complain about though
--The game play is logical, instead of random bas-reliefs that unlock obscure chests, the tasks made sense and flowed with the storyline; light a fire, construct a wooden horse, go fishing, shoot an arrow.
--The story follows Ancient Greek culture and is constantly changing, giving you a new set of scenes to work with.
--I enjoyed the music and the variety, it changed with each scene.
Cons:
--HO scenes aren't the best, and once you enter a HO scene you're stuck there until you complete it. Objects aren't cleverly hidden, often just masked by something of a similar color, and you often find them in ridiculous places.
--Objects are replaced after you find them, and there are multiple trips back to each HO scene.
--The same cookie-cutter type items will keep reappearing; pumpkin, tomato, belt, etc
--I disliked many of the puzzles (sliding mosaic? really?) and skipped them simply because they were tedious and boring.
I recommend this game!

The HO scenes were inventive, sometimes you had to use objects found from the last scene and place them in the next scene. Although replacing objects after I've found them will be the death of me.
The game is more adventure than HO which I prefer.
The hint system is "there's nothing to do here, look elsewhere," and sometimes pointed me to objects I hadn't acquired yet.
It irked me that the same clown puzzle showed up again towards the end in a completely inappropriate place, but I was a huge fan of the stained glass window puzzle.
The puzzles were a nice level of difficulty, not too easy or hard, except the last (which makes sense) where I had to use the walkthrough.
I recommend this game!

I couldn't help but compare it to Roads of Rome. One plus was that this game let you check off tasks as they were available, even if you didn't have free men, then when the men were free they'd perform the task without you having to wait. However, one minus was that each task didn't tell you exactly how many resources were needed to perform the task, so I had to keep looking up at the top to see how much more I needed.
The storyline is funny, a guy gets bonked on the head, travels back in time and becomes a reluctant knight. But the graphics and game play weren't up to par with Roads of Rome.
I decided not to buy, but if you haven't played Roads of Rome yet then this is a good starting point.
I recommend this game!

This game reminds me of Royal Trouble, with the slightly snarky character and a touch of humor, and is also similar to the Snark Buster games with the fragmented HOs and graphics.
The puzzles are fun, especially the ones that let you set up a scene and then hit play to see what happens, but the HO scenes where you have to find objects that are related to each other get tedious very quickly.
I knew the end was coming but it was still a very short game!
I recommend this game!

Pros:
-Original storyline, kept me interested in what was happening next
-Helpful hint system directed you to the next step instead of saying "nothing to do here"
-HO items were not replaced after you found them
-No junk piles
-Beautiful snowy scenes and realistic animation
-Puzzles were simple and fun, wish there were more!
-Map saves a lot of time, just click a location and it will take you there
-Storyline progressed in parts so there wasn't an overabundance of back and forth
Cons:
-I switched to casual because I felt myself using the hint a lot, but the sparkles were absolutely useless. *Everything* sparkled whether it was an active zone or not, and some items stayed active even though there was nothing to do leading me to click the same useless book/drawer/etc over and over again.
-The storyline, even though original, was *very* heavy on the dog theme. I played because I wanted a game that wasn't creepy or scary but I was soon sick of dogs everywhere. Storyline was tragic and a bit depressing.
-Characters in the story weren't helpful, I love when I can interact with characters and they aid in the plot.
I recommend this game!
