Let's start with what I like about the game. First, the concept - goblins and monsters - it's a nice precipice. I also like the idea of being able to earn items in order to equip your little goblins with new attire.
But that's about it. You are consistently interrupted in each level to do certain things - you can't skip and you have to do those things before the interrupter will leave.
It's a TM game, it's supposed to be a challenge. But I don't consider this one to be in that category. Not only do you have to complete the tasks according to how the game designed it, but you have to do it in the time limit (to get the gold) as well as defeat monsters who will either steal your time or items if you don't pay them off. Often times, you don't even have the resources built up to complete a task before you have to use them up to defeat a monster. It's an aggravating annoyance.
If the game had a skip button, was a little more liberating in it's gameplay (allowing the user to follow the tasks versus being told when to do what and how) and if the monster bandits were not present I'd have given this game a much higher rating.
Try the trial, if you wish, see if it's up your alley - but I don't advise straight up buying it. Coupon or no coupon.

Let me start with what I didn't like about his game.....whoops, there isn't anything. Okay, so lets go with what I liked about it. First off, all the other reviews are pretty much spot-on. This game reminds me of 'Supercow' but IMO is far less 'glitchy'.
As with all BFG I suggest trying out the trial but if you're like me, it won't take long to realize what a perfect gem this game truly is.

I quite enjoyed this game. It is along the same lines as other TM games - but with a bit of a twist. There are 2 modes of gameplay and each level has at LEAST 1 sublevel. If you choose the harder mode, all levels & sublevels are timed if you choose the easier mode, only half the level is timed. It's an interesting concept.
I thought the storyline was very good and the characters quite adorable, particularly Yord. I enjoyed that it had challenge to it without aggravating you. I did have to replay a few levels, but was able to complete in gold time by trying different strategies.
My only complaints are this: 1) The game is too short. Only 30 levels. 2) There is no 'trophies/achievements' section.
Whether it's worth the $7 is up to the player, I used a game coupon to get it and I don't regret it. If the game were longer & it had a trophy system I'd have given it 5 stars.

I LOVE this game! You have a number of different sceneries as well as some really cute mini-games.
You can't play the game un-timed, but IMO you won't need to. The timer is more along the lines of 'Island Tribe' and 'Royal Envoy' in that the levels are challenging but not too challenging.
Aside from that, it's basically along the same lines as other TM games. You collect items to complete actions and so forth.
There is an achievement system and you may have to replay some levels a few times over to complete the game but it's a fun game.

Firstly, I am a HUGE 'Royal Envoy' fan and the RE comparisons are no joke. The similarities are incredible. Everything from the graphics to the method of gameplay (collecting, wood, gold, food & rent) and even the music is familiar.
But that is where the comparison ends. I have all 3 RE games and I have completed each of them with 3 stars on all levels but I did have to replay some levels a few times to get there.
But that is the fun part of TM games. The challenge, when the challenge is realistic. But when you are an experienced TM game player like me and find it incredibly difficult to get 3 stars on the fourth level, it gets frustrating.
I don't know if you can complete a level with no stars, I managed to get at least 2 - but I may try to see by purposely letting the clock run out.
I played the game for 34 minutes and a little over halfway through that is when the fun became frustration. Don't get me wrong, I like a challenge. But a game that is too frustrating can be just as bad as a game that is just too easy.
IF this game had more 'game mode' options - that had more realistic timers, I'd have given it 5 stars. But there are only 2 - regular and expert and I only tried regular. IF getting all the stars and achievements matters to you (as it does for me) I'd advise against getting this game - or at least against 'buying it'. But if it doesn't, I'd say it's up to you.
I haven't decided for sure whether or not I will get this game - but I do know I won't 'buy' it. I'd use a coupon for it. Whether it's even worth that is at the player's discretion.
I HIGHLY recommend trying the trial out first, rather than just buying it cause of the 'RE' similarities.

I'm a huge time-management game fan but I never could get into the MK4TP series. With each new release, the series doesn't get any better. Some have compared this series to the Roads of Rome and I can agree with that, cause I don't care for the RoR series either. Neither series even begins to compete with the Royal Envoys or Island Tribes.
What I look for in a good TM game is decent gameplay. Where success is pretty much guaranteed if you follow a strategy. Sadly, this recent release of MK4TP required me to repeat the fourth level twice just to get the gold and by the fifth level, I gave up and uninstalled the game. The graphics are not impressive and the voice-overs are incredibly annoying.
There is no "no timer" mode and your queu clicking is limited. The background scenery is repetitive and dull.
IMO, you are better off with the Royal Envoy, Island Tribe, Northern Tale series. They each allow varied queu clicking, varied graphics, decent achievement lists/trophies as well as numerous game modes.
I like having the option to play a TM game in 'relaxed mode' simply because sometimes some game developers release games that have some levels that are just frustrating to no end. People should have that option. With MK4TP you don't.

First off, I'll admit I'm not a big fan of the 'Monument Builders' franchise in the first place. However, I liked the premise of this one as far as the theme goes (building the Empire State Building). However, I found it just as disappointing as the other MB games. With this one, you are dealing with the same scenery in level after level. The graphics are highly outdated. Even the 'actors' vehicles look like something from an 80s video game. I gave the trial a chance, but it was a no-go for me. Perhaps it may be different for you - but I recommend trying the trial first, not flat out buying it.
First the good points - the graphics are exceptional. But that's about it.
There is no 'map' to go from scene to scene like in other MCF games (just lots of 'backtracking') There is no 'built-in' strategy guide even though this is a "Collectors Edition".
But the worst part is, and I say this as an HO game veteran, is the objectives/HO scenes. For one, when given a list of items to get within regular gaming - you often only get a 'partial' picture. Meaning before you can find the item, you have to figure out what the item is. You can't even hover over it to see a name etc. (IE, the vaccuum cleaner)
During the HO scenes, not only do you have to find the item, but you have to find it hidden among the other HOs, often only getting a 'partial' picture of the item and no visual to refer too. (IE, the scissors)
I honestly don't understand the high ratings this game has gotten. I normally find the 'ratings system' quite accurate on this site - but in this instance I would have to strongly disagree.

I'm a big fan of this series. I prefer 'IT 3 & 4' simply because I like the ability to collect the artifacts & gain achievements. This sequel offers just that. The most interesting thing is you start out underwater, which I found refreshing! A whole new scenery. Bottom line is this - if you love IT 3 & 4, you're guaranteed to love this as well.

Let me start off with the good. It's got a fun storyline and lots of promise. However, the game QUICKLY goes downhill.
I'm a huge fan of TM games, but when you are having your patience tested right off the bat before you can even get used to the game - then it's not worth playing, much less owning.
I don't like games that are 'too easy', but at the same time I don't like games that make you want to rip your hair out within the first 10 minutes of the game. Not being able to get 3 stars in the third level did it in for me. NOT worth it. I like a challenge - but only if it's a challenge I can actually meet. Bad game. REALLY bad game.
