This is a game genre I've never played before. I believe they call it 'mosaic'. I was drawn to the game by the 'pirate' theme and in a quest for a different style of game.
I found this game rather addictive. It reminded me a bit of the Windows game 'Minesweeper' in a sense.
The game requires logic and deductive reasoning. It is a great and refreshing change from the usual HOP and TM games I usually play. I encourage you to try the demo. I'm glad I did.

I was originally drawn to this game by the whole 'detective aspect'. I was not disappointed. The storyline is exceptional.
The music and voices are very 'detective-like' and often humorous. I enjoyed the storyline and simplicity of playing - it's pretty self-explanatory.
My only real complaints are these - 1) While the 'locations' have pretty decent graphics, I found the 'cartoonish' character graphics unappealing. 2) In order to complete levels, you often have to use ammunition or wild cards, which gets old. But to the games credit, if you choose not to go that route, you can always 'skip over' a level after 3 failed attempts.
Earning cash is pretty easy to do, so buying ammo & wild cards for the game is not an issue - it's the frequency needed that annoys me.

This is your typical time-management game. You collect resources to build homes for your villagers as well as resource makers (farm, woodworker etc). You fight off invaders as you proceed through certain levels.
What separates this game from your typical TM game is the added 'hidden object' element. The HO scenes are reminiscent of the 'Gourmania' games. You have pictures of items you have to find and you can also collect coins in the HO scenes.
I like this take on TM games. This game has lots of variety to it, as I said above. It's challenging but not frustrating. Give the demo a try. It's worth it.
I recommend this game!

Let me start by saying I enjoy a good challenge. I find time management a good genre to play when you seek that. But solitaire? Yes, it should be a challenge - but not like this. I play solitaire in the evenings to unwind from a long day. I originally loved this game and that is why I had bought it, the CE no less.
However, I wish I had played it longer before buying cause it is not an enjoyable game.
Let me start with what is good about. The graphics are nice and the voice-overs are often comical. But that's about it.
You need a LOT of money to buy even the basic items from the golf shop and you WILL need a lot of items just to complete the higher levels.
Solitaire is a game of luck, no question. But this game goes further than that. You can't proceed to the next level unless you finish the game according to the limits, which I find are often not realistic. You have to count on luck, pure and simple. I don't play solitaire 'hoping' I will do good enough to satisfy the developers. At the very least, they should have given people the options when it comes to difficulty.
IF you like an endlessly frustrating challenge, you'll like this game. If you like to relax and still have a bit of a challenge, you will not.
I'm not saying I want a card game a five year old can play and win - that defeats the challenge. But any game that requires you to play over a dozen of the same hands just to progress (rather than just a few times) is not worth it IMO.
Based on all the 5 star reviews I was misled IMO, which isn't often here on BFG.
I really liked the first one - at first. But the problems with the first one were from aggravations cause by 'intruders' whereas this game it's the 'unrealistic time limits'.
As someone who is very familiar with TM games and has been able to achieve gold in every level of Royal Envoys and Island Tribes - I know how to beat a challenge. That being said - I found myself running out of time on the first level. I appreciate that games get more difficult as you progress. But the first level?
This is a great game IF you don't care about gold time - since you can finish levels even after time runs out. But I like the achievement of beating the clock.
I say try the demo. If you don't care at all for beating the clock, it's a great game. Otherwise, it's a pass. There are plenty of other more enjoyable TM games here on BFG.
Let's get farming in this unique Hidden Object farming simulator hybrid! Harvest the perfect crop, sell it at the market and search the farm for treasures!
I had a blast playing Tales of Lagoona 2, so I decided to try out one of the developer's (Playcademy) predecessors. At first I enjoyed it. Then, just my luck, the game was offered as the Daily Deal, so I bought it. Had I to do over again, I would not have.
I like the concept, you run a farm - plant & harvest crops, sell eggs, wool and milk from farm animals, purchase upgrades for your farm and so on. In the meantime, you complete 'quests' by collecting certain items in exchange for money to use on your farm. As you complete the quests, you also play 'hidden object' scenes based on places on your farm (kitchen, barn etc). All sounds fun, right? So I thought.
Here's the problem - I fertilized and planted on EVERY available plot - making use of the bonuses to add to profit. However, the quests don't give you squat for coins nor can you really make a decent profit off the market if you sell your crops reasonably.
What killed this game for me was the whole 'big brother' approach. This lady comes by with a clipboard making threats. I don't care at all for that either one bit.
She says if you don't buy blueprints and upgrades, she'll shut you down. Here's the thing, I purchased blueprints and several upgrades but apparently not enough to please 'big sister'. She shut me down and now I can't sell crops. She'll give me back my market if I make more improvements. But how am I supposed to improve my farm without making profits off my crops? It's bad enough you only get chump change for your crops but you have to pay in the thousands for each upgrade (after paying hundreds for the blueprints).
If I wanted to be ruled by 'big brother' I'd buy a real farm. This is a fantasy game and a different approach would have made this game a hit in my opinion. It's a shame, really.
really wish I hadn't bought it - it's not even worth a free coupon.
I love TM and strategy games. That being said I do not care at all for 'rip your hair out' frustrating games like this. I enjoy a challenge - but I don't enjoy having to 'rapid click' to trap animals who even if you begin the trapping still manage to destroy your crops and remove your animals. Not to mention you get these 'invaders' practically every 30 seconds and on top of that you have to feed your animals, pump water from the well and create the ingredients for the goal level. This wouldn't be such an issue if it weren't for the impossible time limits. By the third level I gave up on the game. Not my kind of game.

I thought this game showed a lot of promise. I liked the mysterious element but I was soon let down.
What's good about it - I was drawn into the story of the secret society and it was rather riveting for a bit but soon lost it's appeal. Like other MM games, you collect clovers (40 in all) and you also collect 'ravens' for added hints. It also has an achievement system. I like games that have 'collectibles' & 'trophies/achievements'. This game has those, but they don't make up for what is missing.
What's not good about it - The 'strategy guide' is NOT integrated into the game (which is stupid for a CE) and it is also 'locked' so you have no idea how helpful it is in the first place. You can only go so far in the trial period and then you are cut off. Which I can understand since it is a trial. But It doesn't even give you an 'idea' of what you get if you purchase the full game so I have no idea if it is even worth it. If they don't want to 'unlock' all the features, I get it. But at least show us the strategy guide FOR the parts we CAN play so we know if it's worth it. Also, with a CE you really should have it integrated.
There are plenty of games on BFG to play that are far more informative as to what you get for your money. IMO, if a game 'hides' these features it means they aren't any good in the first place.
Don't wast your time and money. It's a no-go for me.
I am a very big fan of this series. I have all three of the prior releases as well as the Viking Saga series as well and I love them all.
This latest release is really along the same lines as the prior Northern Tales. You have the option of playing 'timed', 'multi-click' (queuing) as well as 'untimed' which really makes it good for everyone. The backgrounds are different and I find them very impressive.
You have some old enemies (evil rock etc) as well as some new ones (scarecrow). There is an achievement system and a new feature added - items to collect hidden in certain levels. You have to collect enough stars to unlock the item (which will tell you what level it is located in).
There isn't any MAJOR difference in this latest release aside from what I have mentioned.
I do have to agree with previous viewers about the length of time it takes to load each level. I have a top-notch gaming PC and even I was a bit perturbed by the waiting for such a simple game. But that's my only real complaint.
This is a fantastic game. I would not recommend it for people who prefer a challenge as it isn't that difficult a game. I prefer a wide variety of challenge in games to suit my mood at the time. For me, the hour went by WAY too fast which is a good thing for a game - it means I will buy it!
This game has a number of great features to it. You are in an amusement park that is in dire need of repairs. You visit different locations and search for items in a rather unique way - with the items being silhouettes, fractured objects, listed objects as well as 'solve a riddle' objects. It's a very nice variety! In each location you can collect gems (there are one of each kind at each location). You can also find 'food items' in each location to feed your sea ponies who grow hair for you to harvest in exchange for money to use in your park to renovate different parts. You also run a store to earn money and there is a quest system to earn added money to spend as well as puzzles and an achievement system.
There is a LOT going on in this game and really too much to thoroughly explain without confusing folks. The best thing I can suggest is try the demo. If you find the hour goes by too fast, buy it. You won't regret it.
